'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

Agreed. His basketball coach wasn't happy (top 10 player in the state), but he is really putting in the time to be great.

That will take you a long way. I love the guys who were always the most gifted player on the field and still worked harder than everyone else.

Perfect example is Vic Wharton. Focused on getting his mind and body right for football. Quit basketball but continued track to maintain speed and conditioning. Didn't he get up to about 200 lbs? Still flew at the track meets too.

VOLS_FAN15 is a teammate of JJ. He sees him everyday. Please don't rip him for his opinion. JJ is VERY thin. I agree (to an extent) with what he said.

The reason for no BB..... trying to be EE. Boom

No trying to come off as a jerk, and I apologize to VOLS_Fan15 if I did. I did see the pic of JJ's dad and with his frame I believe he will be fine in the weight dept. I also think about Jalen Hurd from his Jr to senior year. He exploded and added a ton of weight and muscle.

Disclaimer not saying JJ will be 230 this season like Hurd was as a senior, but he has the frame to support a lot more weight.

:hi:

Hey Volatil, I am also from the Boro and in the Blackman area. Who is coaching the O-linemen these days? Didn't the previous coach go to coordinator?

David Watson was still coaching them (I think) in Spring. They are on the complete opposite side of the field during practice from Kickers and QBs so for obvious reasons didn't pay too much attention.

Not what I said. You conveniently left out the part where I said that's his opinion.

You said don't rip him because he is JJ's teammate and sees him every day...then went on to say you some what agree. I don't think I am twisting word.

He is entitled to his opinion just like the rest of us are. There will always be people that agree or disagree. But just because he sees JJ daily, doesn't mean he knows squat about a maturing body.

FTR, I left in the part where you mention it was his opinion..."don't rip him for his opinion" That is the last line I left in the quote...

Let's just say he will end up somewhere between 185-220 by the time he graduates. That's a safe bet right? 😄

You just like to argue (especially with me for some reason). I'm not going to derail a kid's thread with meaningless banter like this. I'm out.

Watching his highlights again. It hurts my soul because there were several (understatement) dropped passes that were thrown perfectly

Doug Matthews said that the Vols have promised JJ that he will be the only dual threat QB singed in the 2015 class and that he and Dormady will be the only two QBs signed in this class. He went onto say that the Vols have told JJ that they will keep him at QB for at least one year before they would allow him to look at playing another reposition if he chooses to do so. The Vols coaching staff think very highly of JJ's abilities and seven more so of his high moral character.
