'15 TN ATH Jocquez Bruce (UT commit 6/17/14)

Rumor is that Croom was the player who dropped Bruce after walking in the T. If so, that doesn't speak well for Joc's intelligence, bucking up to the Croomster.

I'd love for this to be true. Not because I endorse physical violence for stuff like that, but because it would mean maybe Croom will realize he can manhandle small people on the field too.

The locker room incident is 100% true. Bruce walked right over the T and consequently got knocked unconscious by a UT teammate. Bruce knew the T wasn't to be walked on & did it anyway. He also had not been taking academics/tutoring sessions seriously & wouldn't take any advice from other teammates. He acted like he was too good to take advice from teammates.

The rumor that the other teammate that attacked Bruce being Jason Croom is not what I've been told. I won't name the player I've been told, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. It was the same UT player that just last year beat a fellow teammate (former player now) an inch from his life over an off-the-field incident.

Either way. Bruce wasn't ever going to amount to much as a UT football player, IMO. Seemed like a career special teams player to me. He was entitled & lazy. Now he is gone. Good-luck to Bruce in the future, but he didn't honestly didn't have the skill or commitment to be a Tennessee football player.

This is all true and I completely agree with the last paragraph. I thought Bruce was going to be one of those hard working, blue collar guys that would take pride in doing some of the dirty work on the team. Looks like that wasn't going to be the case and I think Butch's decision to cut bait now was made much easier with Stevenson suddenly becoming available.

LWS validates the basic storyline, and has Croom dishing lessons.

MZTerry, well played, remaining silent here. Ain't nothing good going to come from engaging in this :hi:

I'm not a lawyer, but I can see the ambulance chasers circling. Like it or not, you can't punch somebody because they disrespected you or some entity you represent.

Like it or not, there would be a lot less punks in the world, if more people did. In the life I used to live, if you disrespected the wrong dude, you would wish a punch was all you got.

Good ole fashion @$$ kickens solve a lot of things and straighten people up, especially young ones that think everything should b handed to them. Now I'm not saying knock him down and beat his brains out but a good shot to the jaw that's puts u on your @$$ is lesson learned. If he gets back up and wants some more..do it again....a guy who does the right things and follows the rules usually becomes the captain and physical actions by a captain/veteran toward a young guy not following the rules is sometimes needed to prove a point on how things should be done. It sends a message to new/young guys about respect towards the coaches and rules.

Kind of like a GI shower with a wire brush or a good ol' blanket party.

That's one heck of a tradition/superstition,, it's sad that a guy gets 'dropped' by a teammate, then kicked off the team just for walking on a piece of carpet with a 'T' on it.... There has to be more to the story. Time will tell

Can you imagine in a trial...uhh sir, I knocked him out because he walked on a section of floor that has our logo on it.

yeah, that is not holding up.

Defense witness #1: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the defendant never hit the plaintiff.

Defense attorney: Your honor, I have 82 witnesses who will testify to exactly the same thing.

Unless Joc got physical first and just got stomped. We don't know the series of events and to assume is damaging to the wrong parties.

It's unlikely that a punch was the initial physical contact. There's a reason Joc Bruce signed forms before leaving the program. UT is helping him find a spot with another school and will make it an easy transition. That would be best for everybody, especially Bruce.
