The "friend" just went a little too far with her posting. It happens. On. Here. A lot. She gets a pass from me except for stating any raciest overtones. This board, Vol nation in general, the team, the university - as non-racist as it gets. Glad the post is deleted.

Good luck to Joc. Didn't work out. Glad Croom is stepping up into a leadership role.

Well Deer Park said he would be surprised if Justin makes it. Hopefully he gets it together and realizes crazy moms making wild racial accusations are not the people you need to back. Maybe bring Condredge Holloway in to speak to the team and tell them his story and how Tennessee was the first school in the South to breakdown racial barriers.

This comment will probably get me torched on here, but here goes anyway. The only reason this kid was a "take" was to appease the East Tn contingent of fans who say, "(fill in name) grew up here a Vol and has dreamed of playing here since he was 3 years old. It is best to have kids who grew up around Knoxville (and or TN ) and live and breathe the Vols on the team." I have seen multiple times where the some of East TN area fans bemoan not taking more local players. Heck several are on here gripping about us playing in Nashville. Fans in the MidState and in West TN are no less true UT fans than the ones in East TN. You being in Bama makes you no less of a fan! Knox area fans complain about traveling to 1 game, we have to travel to every game in Knox.

I say take the best players, where ever they are from and play them. If the kid is a TKjr and from Knoxville great, if he is JG and coming from Jersey so be it. JG seems to have the same desire to be a Vol right now as KM did this time last year, but I seriously doubt JG grew up a Vols fan. Get the best and play the best. If we want to win we have to field athletic teams capable of competing will FL, UGA, BAMA, AU year in and year out. I want us to win.

The world is full of racism and always will be. Pointing that out constantly doesn't change the reality nor does it help you get ahead in any meaningful way. Taking responsibility for your life and your decisions does. Really wish the next generation would get that through their heads...it's been too good for too long and we have become too entitled.

Plausible deniability...in reverse. You'll never know who did it, because multiple people will all admit to it...or all will claim it didn't happen. Regardless, the team will cover for each other and it will be impossible to pursue legally. "Seriously sir, he slipped on a power T shaped bar of soap and hit his head repeatedly. Darnedest thing I've ever seen".

Can you imagine the leaders of 119 dealing with Bray and David Ricky during the KY game? I'd say our win streak would be intact.

I think you are in the ballpark, but I think think its more about local and in state coaches . Having local guys come in contribute would help relationships with coaches. I think it is a combo. Jmo

If he what's been reported is true, hopefully he learns from this and it makes him a better person. No point in continuing to dwell on it or start pointing fingers.

Some are saying that maggit is the one who popped Bruce. If that is the case, it makes sense that justin Martin is the one liking Bruce's momma's Facebook post. Wasn't it posted that Maggit is the one who stood up to Martin during a team meeting?
