'15 TN ATH Nathan Cottrell

He's better then rollins ever thought about being! Better instincts and just tougher! I watched the kid play this whole year and have wondered why this coaching staff has not offered him. Cottrell made them look silly today! He had better SPARQ scores then two kids we have offered:salute: So worse case scenario he'e a better athlete then Taj Griffin who we offered but wont get and Cj Anderson who we might! But he's a white RB! That is the only reason he does not have the same offers! He's got elite numbers, film shows he can ball!! What else is there? I think another school may be a better fit for him at RB but this will be one we regret if UT does not get him! Randall Cobb and Harrison Smith come to mind... and the 4.35 is the fastest 40 in the country for class of 2015

We wanted Harrison Smith but he did not like Fulmer and loved the Irish.

Cottrell has to be a take. It should be a no brainer.

UT has had so much success recently recruiting the local Knoxville players. They always transition so well to the college game. Especially the Caucasian local recruits. Devrin Young, Josh Smith, Cody Blanc, Tyler Maples, etc. The list goes on and on.

UT should definitely use a scholarship spot for Cottrell and continue the successful pipeline and tradition.

Like you as a poster and love your insight normally. But, that is as racist a statement as ever and made just to compare fast white kids. The key here is Dooley recruited them. I will wait and see what the coaches think and if they offer. They will judge the player as of now and not the past players they never evaluated. TKJr played against weaker competition as well. The guys you mentioned did not have the same camp showings that this kid just had.

I would wager that almost no one we are currently recruiting has the scores Nathan put up.

Wait....Devrin Young is white?

He certainly plays like it.

And that's all that matters.

A lot of NFL guys are white and play like it too I guess. I hope you are joking. Otherwise, you are as racist as these guys on here who judge players if they have dreads or whatever. MLK said he wanted a day where we were judged by our character and not the color of our skin. Your statements show that you think more about making judgments by skin color in regards to football. Those statements if meant in earnest are just as racist as any white person who makes statements in judgment of someone whose skin is not the same as theirs.

I'm not racist. At all. I can't be. I have at least 15 white friends on Facebook, maybe even 20. We are cool.

Football games are not played on a track. If the coaches, and coaches of many other major colleges, don't think he is a great football player then they don't care about his SPARQ rating. I am not staying my opinion as I have really not seen him play enough nor do I know about his statute and frame.

The SPARQ rating only emphasizes what many people around Knoxville already know. He is a tremendous football player and a freakish athlete. He will get his looks and will have many offers in hand by late summer. Knoxville West competes at the highest level of competition in Tennessee outside of DII. Only losses were to Maryville and Henry County in the state championship.

He averaged 11 yards a carry even VS Maryville.

I never knew VN had so many MLK disciples.

I guess Freak will just let any loser join this board.

Makes me sick.

So, in addition to the racially irrelevant discussion currently taking place, is Cottrell a track athlete turned football player or both? With numbers like that, you have to think he probably started out running track.

Sweet. Hope he camps this summer and proves to the coaches that he deserves an offer

Nathan is a football player first. He has elite speed and ran track his freshman and sophomore seasons. He had hamstring problems coming out of track season last year and shut it down.

I'll add he runs a sub-11 100 and sub-23 200.

I don't see a 400 there...

BTW: I think it's a no brainer. This kid is a Sehorn/Archuleta/Welker clone. What's the problem???
