'15 TN CB Ugo Amadi

It is odd seeing how two days ago he was quoted as saying he wants to wait till May. You may be on to something

Yup. UT has been in great shape for a long time now and a sudden commit to OM? Butch telling him to wait makes the most sense.

You can still lock down the state and miss on a couple recruits, chief. There is a lot of talent in the state. And there will continue to be, hell even if he could get them all it would be impossible number wise. So prepare to be disappointed.

I will prepare for no such thing, "chief". There will always be one or two that slip through the cracks for whatever reason - Bars, for example - but I don't expect Tennessee to whiff on solid in-state talents at a position of need without an equal or better out-of-state talent already on the hook. Middle Tennessee will start producing more and more talent in the coming years, but it still isn't Georgia or Florida. UT can and should be able to take whatever top talent in the state of Tennessee that it wants.

Bars didnt slip through the cracks! Bars was a legacy guy going to Notre Dame regardless. Tennessee didnt whiff on him. With respect to Amadi, it is March and I am not sure how high a priority an undersize in state corner is right now... but that is JMO

I think its more of ole miss pulled something during the visit. Similar to their OT that was all UGA until he visted ole miss

ole miss coach to Ugo on his UOV:

"Butch just took Griffin yesterday because he wants bigger corners".

Ugo to om coach:

"I think he is a safety".

om coach to Ugo:

"That is just what they want you to think".

(Ugo takes the duffel bag and commits).

Cmon guys...This kid is a 5'9" midget and we are talking possibly suiting up a 6''8" Stokes at TE. Pretty sure CBJ said "No thanks".

Of course I was joking guys...we all know tiny corners can hang with TEs like Tony Gonzalez and Jimmy Graham. They've been shutting them down for years like a bad habit.

You're an idiot, sir. No offense.

Not in a class as small as we are going to have. We will miss on other instate talent this year. Just a reality. We are in on too many.

I know you can't just look at offers but also not just at stars ect. But, look who has offered. Duke, ole miss, Vandy ect. I think UT offered but do not think he is high on the proverbial board at this stage. He may think olie miss will be his best choice out of what he has because UT is after stronger prospects who are being recruited by the top football teams in the country. Not going to actually write the actual animal team's names we compete against at the top if we want to win it all.

This is why I don't think we have this guy as a commit yet.

It's a beautiful place and the atmosphere on the team is what I'm looking for. They all have each other's backs," he continued. "We were also very impressed with those facilities. They're as good, or better, than anyone's.*

"But number one on my list is the way the coaches treated me while they were recruiting me. I know they're going to take care of me during my college career and groom me to be a leader as a player and an adult."*

"I wanted a place where I fit. I wanted a place where I could compete against the best," he closed. "I got that in Ole Miss with the fit and the SEC with the competition.*

"I've made up my mind. I'm finished. I'm a Rebel and I'm excited. So is my family."*

Knowing what we have heard from other recruits and what we know about our coaches and facilities, I think I is safe to say we were not ready to take his commitment at this point.

Before he committed, just about everyone on the board had him as a Vol. He did not pick the Vols so UT must have told him to wait. Not sure I'm buying it. Could he not just liked ole miss better? I think the staff would have taken him if they could have got him.
