'15 TN CB Ugo Amadi

Kevin Tolliver
Xavier Lewis
Justin Martin probably
Maybe donte Jackson
Another highly ranked JUCO DB committed

Ugo is not going to play over any of these guys at LSU. Plus whatever they have on campus already.

Plus the elite CB's they'll probably land in the '16 class and beyond. Like I said, he's the Nash Nance of this "package deal" from the LSU perspective. Why else wait until December to start recruiting an EE?

Their needs are nothing like TN's. Not even close. Especially with the corners they already have committed in this class alone as well as Dante Jackson probably going there. They also land elite DB's in every single recruiting class unlike TN has done. He'll likely be having to also compete with another couple of 5* type CB's coming in with the '16 class as well. I know Buck was trying to spin it like Ugo is a need for them with that junior comment, but that isn't even close to being accurate.

If we end up with just Abernathy and Miller, I'd be okay with rolling with that. Add them to Sutton, Moseley, Gaulden, Foreman, Berry, and some talented walk on's we will be good. Not to mention our 2016 cb class is looking like it will be real strong.

I believe he was at their camp down there this summer and got an offer coming out of that camp

No way LSU takes Amadi on his own. They have zero need at CB and only just started recruiting him in the last few weeks. He's the Nash Nance of this package deal for LSU. When he commits to them tomorrow it is guaranteeing that Phillips will do so on Saturday.

Nash Nance? There are better examples. He's a legit SEC talent on his own.

I was just throwing that example out there off the top of my head. I'm sure their are a lot better examples. My point was no way LSU is taking him on his own. They are taking him because they know it guarantees them Phillips. So people shouldn't be holding out any hope for KP on Saturday.

We have 3 scholarship corners returning. Abernathy and Miller make 5. We need at least 1 more IMO.

Agree. Earlier in the summer someone asked Hubbs how many corners we would take and his answer was 2. Now, with losing Payne and Martin it definitely amplifies the need. I say take 1 more this cycle, it's obvious they had planned that considering Martin was a silent. Just don't throw a scholly at a kid out of desperation.

Don't forget Williams is most likely gone too.

Agree. I don't want to take someone just to add a body. We need quality depth.

Amadi is also being recruited because he can impact the return game. The coaches like his skills there better than his talent at DB.

That being said shorter guys can still be tough players. I don't get the knock or downplaying on this kid. He'll be a good contributor wherever he goes. These sour grapes making some of yall talk funny..

Agreed. Kid is very good and we would be ecstatic to have him right now.

It's terrible how posters talk about a recruit once they move on to another school, especially comparing this situation to the Nash Nance situation where we took one to get another, which is clearly not the situation here being that we would take an individual commitment from Amadi and/or Phillips.

Reeks of bitterness. You can tell who the stalkers are.

Sutton

Foreman
.

Where do you project Evan Berry & Gaulden?

Berry is a safety. I think Gaulden could play either safety or corner. He's currently at safety I believe, but could potentially be moved depending on what happens with Martin. That would leave a safety rotation of McNeil, Randolph, Kelly, Berry, Swafford, and Griffin. I'd be fine with that.
