'15 TN CB Ugo Amadi

Karma will catch Miles at some point. He is a good motivator, but his decision making is going to bite him big one of these days. I think he is on the decline more than a rise, that doesn't mean he isn't a good coach. I just don't think he is a great one for sure, but you don't have to be when you get good players. But I see his luster slowly fading, it happens to most over time. See spurrier, he will fight it but 2 more years and it's BY BY!!! GO VOLS!!!!

@KM1_Era: @K72_Phillips when I get to the hotel we havin a sit down

In my opinion this tweet says ALOT ... Read into it, McKenzie is trying to put in a last effort pitch to get Phillips to UT. Butch said he's going to lock down the state and I expect him to, however we're still building. Give him and the staff time, it'll happen. Back to my troll cave ...

Talked to a couple of people on Twitter and saw that the LSU CBs keep coming..time to shut down these two threads and focus on guys that want to be VFLs

Vols are going to be just fine with or without them. It may in fact have came at the perfect time! Hear me out. We're already at 25 commitments. Andre Walker just announced that he's changed his mind and will announce at the Army All-American Game and Georgia 247 is now questioning Darius Slayton's commitment to GA!

Not to mention the other prospects we have a serious chance in landing:

OLB - Quarte Sapp
RB - Byrce Love
T - Patrick Allen
WR - Ryan Newsome
QB - Sherion Jones
T - Tyree St. Louis

CB - Justin Martin (Possibly)

Long story short we're going to finish strong with or without them. IMO stronger without them, if it has to be a package deal. Ugo Amadi is no where close to as good as any of these other guys!!! We only have so much room left!

This last class was a special case and we recruited to reflect that. We did not have those relationships beforehand, Dooley made sure of that. We can make the same relationships with schools and coaches out of state like we have done in Georgia.

Filling your class with hometown talent does not necessarily make your class better it may in fact make you lazy.

Pride is what it comes down to. You people need to realize college is a destination and a lot of people what a change of scenery. You want to be that change of scenery, to be the destination. That is the mark of a champion.

Of course a championship team becomes a "destination place" to recruits and you want that. I agree... However you proved my point with the Dooley comment. We need in state recruiting. Almost EVERY championship team (99.9%) has strong in state recruiting. Just look at the SEC. I don't know why this bothers you, we should all be happy about our new found instate talent and last years class is a good example if why.

I'm pretty sure the kids can still sign more than one financial aid agreement (apparently Kirkland signed both with Michigan and TN). The difference now is that if a player signs more than one financial aid agreement beginning Aug. 1 of their senior year, only the first college he signed with would have the benefits of unlimited contact and publicity.

Then how did Kirkland sign them with both UM and UT?

Athletes can sign multiple ones. What changed I believe is that multiple schools having unlimited contact with the recruit. I think only the first school that the prospect signed a NLI with can have unlimited contact within permissible contact periods. At least that was my understanding of the rule following the Malone recruitment last year.

I love getting in state talent if it is great in relation to the nation as a whole. What bothers me is people wringing their hands when we don't get in state talent not because of their potential impact but mainly because they are in state. That is all.

its funny reading through these comments about Ugo, if we do indeed miss out on him Butch has no one to blame but himself (i am a butch fan). He botched this one pretty bad from the summer on, he prolly could of had this kid locked up awhile back but he rolled the dice on some other kids and Ugos talent and lost out. It happens I understand that, im not near as mad as some of you, but im not going to blame the kid too much.

That's fair. I think to be honest that if this kid wasn't in state and wasn't somewhat tied to Phillips that he wouldn't be a priority. They passed on him because of his height and I know he has put together a good season but his height really hasn't changed.

This.

If Amadi was from arkansas and had no ties to Phillips, I don't think he'd even have an offer. He's good, but I don't think he's elite by any means.

and I honestly don't mind missing out on Amadi and Martin, I'd rather have Martin by a long shot, but I don't think he's the homerun starter next year. I thought Moseley progressed nicely as the year went on and he'll have a break out season next year.

we definitely don't need 2 more corners in this class and we can get away with what we have signed so no big whoop.
