Could be as simple as the staff feels very confident with the 2-3 guys they offered early and feel they will get those guys. They may think an offer to Ordway may just trigger a quick commitment and they would not take it now.

That is my guess as well. I think they feel really good about Amadi and a couple of others they've already offered.

The top prospect at this event possibly. A kid I did not know a lot about entering Sunday, but I do now, and he is on the rise for me. Look for him to become a four-star corner in the near future. He has great length, he has short-space quickness, and he is around 6-feet tall. Expect his offer list to grow.

"I've been talking to Mississippi State a lot," The Pulaski (Tenn.) Giles County product said. "I talk to coach Deshea Townsend and he's a good guy. We have a good relationship."

"I talked to Coach Mason the other day and he seems like a good guy," Ordway said. "He said he wants to meet me in person so I'm going to make sure I make it down there for a visit or for camp soon."

"My favorite and my dream school is Ohio State," he said. "They came to my school not too long ago and that kind of surprised me. It's probably the one I want the most, but even if they offered I still plan on waiting the process out."

Ordway said this summer he plans on camping at several schools, with Ohio State and Tennessee at the top of his list.

I don't post much on here but I have a question that is driving me crazy. What is the big deal with Ohio State being all of these kids' "Dream School". I read quotes from kids in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and all across the South where Ohio State is " the offer I've been wanting". These kids live in the epicenter of not just college football but athletics as well. I understand Ohio State has tradition and great facilities but they have proven to be not up to snuff when it comes to playing with the elite, especially the SEC. I liken it to being invited to the prom by the hottest chick in school but instead choosing to go with her uglier friend because she has a " great personality". Gimme a break. Rant over.

When these kids first started watching football, Ohio St was at or around the top. Then, Urbs was winning championships when they really started getting into football. The two combined makes it an attractive draw. Urbs is a great recruiter as well

Valid point but the SEC has been at the tip top during this same span. How about your FSU's and Miami's who were elite during portions of this span? To me, they have way more to offer than a school in Ohio. Urban Meyer realizes that the Southern kids have the most talent and I think he has mandated our kids' recruitment within his own staff. He's a carpetbagger. Pisses me off.

Gave you a like for good point and great user name. One of Duval's best roles and possibly the best character in movie history IMO.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Ordway. He fits the mold of a big corner they like and he's continued to pick up more and more offers. He didn't make it to Knoxville last weekend and maybe they wanted to see him with their own eyes.

They are recruiting him and continue to talk to him so we will see how this plays out.

To piggyback off what Pfort said, he actually has a lot of SEC interest. He has a few SEC offers and Wil have a lot more throughout the Summer. Good looking prospect. A little under the radar.

Woody Wommack just said on VQ that he thinks Ordway will get a UT offer by the end of the week.

Since when is Woody so connected with UT targets lol

lol I was wondering the same thing. My guess is that since he was the one who broke the Shelley "commitment" and had a story written that he might have heard that UT was going to offer Ordway. Just a guess.

My only concern with Ordway is whether he is a "tweener" or not between a corner and a safety. Is he a true corner or a true safety or neither? He actually reminds me a lot of DJ Smith from this past class.

Kid is a corner all the way, but with the attitude and ability to play safety also. The kid can play, he has SEC talent.
