'15 TN LB Brant Mitchell

bUTch loading up the silent commit Gatling Gun for '15!

SKILL ASSESSMENT: Mitchell came on the scene at the end of Webb's state championship run last season when he won defensive MVP for the Blue Cross Bowl. Mitchell is a prototypical middle linebacker with great size and a nose for the ball.

STATUS WITH VOLS: Mitchell hasn't been shy in traveling the short distance to Knoxville and the University of Tennessee's campus, doing so several times this spring and summer. He's another local player the Vols jumped on early in it will pay dividends down the road.

OTHERS INVOLVED: Clemson, Vanderbilt, Duke

I personally would rather have him more so than Cherry. I think Cherry is a decommitt risk anyway. But I would love to have both wear Orange.

I'd suggest re watching cherry's film and getting back to us.

Cherry is a legacy

This! Get over this inferiority complex that everyone who is not in-state or a huge Vols fan is a de-commitment risk, although this guy is a Vols fan and legacy. Even against a weak FCS opponent, it was very easy to see that this team looks completely different being led by a competent coaching staff. Recruits, along with those close to them, will be able to easily see this, as we do. That's all that alot of these kids want to see...that they will be playing for a staff that will develop them, respect them, push them, and win. I have no doubt that we will win big once we get a little more depth. Recruits know Tennessee is a sleeping giant, and they are wanting to be part of the group that brings this program back to elite status.

This guy is the real deal. He needs to be a priority. Might even be better than TKjr...

From watching him play. TK is good, extremely smart for a HS football player. Brant physically is just a monster. Built like a DE but had the speed to play LB. Personal opinion from seeing them in person this past week. Was more impressed with Brant.
