'15 TN WR Van Jefferson

Ummm you're joking right? This is extremely petty on the part of a parent who has been anti-TN from the get go.

I'd just pick the Vols on announcement day anyways, regardless of how she feels about one assistant coach. I mean how petty.

And at the end of the day, what's she gonna do... kick him out of the house?

I'm pretty sure that's what Landon Collins did when he announced. His mom was next to him shaking his head no.

I swear, I've never heard of a parent being so freakin bossy in choosing a college for her young adult son. Since when did recruits start letting Moma or Daddy make the decision for them?

It's one thing to know your folks like your choice, but if they don't, they need to swallow their pride and let the young man go where his heart is.

I mean, just look at Khalil McKenzie. His dad said in an interview, recently, that it will be very difficult for him and his wife to get to see Khalil, with his GM job with the Raiders and their son playing on Fri nights out there. If anyone has a reason to compel their son to go somewhere specific, it is them.

Logistically, it's very hard on them, but Reggie said from the get-go that he did not try to pressure Khalil at all, and let him make the decision all on his own. They said "we'll figure out a way to make it work (talking about watching Khalil)."

Everyone on this forum is fine when the mom drives to the kid to UT. Nothing wrong with a parent wanting what they think is best for the kid, just unfortunate that isn't always UT

So she's upset that he used some colorful language is that right? Probably like every other coach in the United States of America- hope he ends up a Vol!! Any hopes that she'll come around de1? And no offense taken Engineer I laughed when I read that!! And the tire comment too! Some women can be tough to deal with- maybe that's why I do enjoy football so much and being with the guys! GBO!!

You guys/girls kill me with this sentiment. Some kids have different relationships with their parents. They may value the parents opinion a little more than others. We benefit from it and sometimes we don't. Deal with it.

I don't get the parent bash fest. If it was my kid I'd have influence on where they went to school. Anyone saying other wise is simply acting like this isn't a huge decision for the kid.
