'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

I finally looked at his soph highlights and the new 7v7 tournament highlights. The arm strength looked solid in both. It seemed to me that he was locking onto receivers more in the soph highlights. He was checking down more in the 7v7s. I would say that comes with age, film study, and experience. Hope he has an outstanding senior season. I was happy to hear him say in the interview that his arm has never been stronger. It's always a concern coming off surgery. Can't wait to see him in next year's spring practice and the O&W game. If Dobbs and Peterman stay healthy, hopefully both him and Jennings can red shirt. That would be a solid foundation for the future.

Dormady was just re-ranked on 247sports. He is now in their Top247 listed as a 4* at #175, and the #5 Pro Style QB behind Ricky Town (USC, 5*, #20), Josh Rosen (UCLA, 5*, #21), Brady White (Arizona State, 4*, #50), and Drew Lock (Missouri, 4*, #95).

Zach Gentry, the pro-style QB that many wanted badly and who committed to Texas, has dropped to #12.

Only one sec school higher. Sounds good to me

So hypothetically speaking, if QD winds up in the top 100, and for some reason TG were to drop below QD, is that like Ghostbuster's 'crossing the streams'...and would the result be the explosion of the Stay Puft marshmallow man?

Perhaps, can't rule it out.

I've always been worried about Texas here.

With a TX recruit I usually would be as well. QD took his time with the process. He had some pretty good offers before the Tennessee and bama offers came through. He picked UT over bama. TX has Gentry committed who is a very similar QB to Dormady. For some reason I am just not worried about Quinten flipping to TX at all. Looking at how he is talking about nothing but UT, no other visits, his twitter is only Vols stuff. I think the kid is 100% in.

If Gentry decommitted, I would begin to worry.

It would not be a bright move to go to Texas. He'd have more competition with Gentry.

I wouldn't. CBJ sold QD on Tennessee. Texas slow played Dormady and he knows it. They took Gentry over him. IMO QD and his dad would stick with Tennessee.

Now IF Dormady were to announce a visit to TX, then I would be worried about losing him. I don't think he would do it even if Gentry bailed on TX.

What's caused Gentrys stock to fall? Has he gotten injured or something?

I've been skeptical of Gentry from the start because he plays against VERY poor competition. Not saying the kid won't be good or anything like that though.

Has he been at any camps recently?
