'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Andrew Butcher has even said that CBJ told him to recruit Gibson...?

Andrew Butcher also expected UT was about to add a commitment from Sterling Johnson the day he was set to announce. How did that turn out? IMO the recruits know about as much of what is going on recruiting wise as we fans do.

I understand what you're saying but if CBJ backed off the kid then it wouldn't make sense for him to tell one of his recruits to go recruit a guy he is not pursuing?

How long ago could CBJ have possibly said that to Butcher? Maybe months ago? CBJ and Tennessee is NOT recruiting TG with ANY plans to sign him. I've followed recruiting long enough to see that. The *'s just don't blind me and have me grasping at hope.

Supposedly it was recent that CBJ said that to Butcher and I'm not grasping at hope because of stars I think Gibson would fit perfectly here at Tennessee. U always want the best possible players

One thing I do believe is that
1. CBJ is fine with our QB class
2. He is still pursuing T Gibson
3. If indeed Jennings or QD decommit he will turn up the heat even more on Gibson.

I know Butcher's comment about it was recent, but that in no way means CBJ asked him to recruit TG recently.

And CBJ passing on TG told me all I needed to know about him being a "best possible player". Yes, CBJ passed on Gibson. There have been quite a few commitments since TG was last on campus. A lot of commitments others felt were not as "good" as Gibson. "How can we have room for a 3* punter or a 2* long snapper and not Gibson"? Once again, that should tell you all you need to know.

Texas offers mean a LOT to these Texas guys. If they offer, I'm fairly confident he flips.

Hope I'm wrong.

IMO.....I believe we are going to start seeing those Tx offers meaning less to Texas kids. The offer might still mean something, but the feeling of WANTING to go there is going to become less. A&M's move to the SEC coupled with the LHN ruining the big twelve will come into play.

To me the ones that are going to reap the benefits of UTx's greediness and being about 20 years behind the times for a power TV move are aTM, Baylor and Texas Tech. I also think we will see more Tx kids looking at other SEC schools because of aTM's move.

Of course JMO.

Callahan said he hasn't heard anything about a flip. He said when he talked with Quentin a while back that he said he was happy at Tennessee, and he felt it was the place he needed to be. Dormady said he didn't know that a Texas offer would change anything since he really liked UT. I'm just paraphrasing what Callahan said about 10 minutes ago.

From scout in June

“I don’t know if I had a Texas offer if things would change or not but I’m definitely comfortable with where I am and I’m coming (to Tennessee),” Dormady told InsideTennessee.

I wouldn't. CBJ sold QD on Tennessee. Texas slow played Dormady and he knows it. They took Gentry over him. IMO QD and his dad would stick with Tennessee.

Now IF Dormady were to announce a visit to TX, then I would be worried about losing him. I don't think he would do it even if Gentry bailed on TX.

I think QD makes his decision based on the progression of Dobbs and, to a lesser extent, how we do in recruiting a QB for the 2016 class. If Worley is the man this year then we keep QD regardless of whether or not Texas offers

Tx hasn't offered but everyone freaks out cuz a guy that covers Baylor picked a flip? When a tx mod does flip predict then we can think about worrying
