I'm not sold on the "Strong" hire at Texas. He won in a weak conference. His crown jewel is stomping an offensively challenged Florida team in a bowl. I'm very happy he didn't come to Tennessee and we lucked out and CBJ came here. IMHO Dormady is much better than Gentry.
Strong will still win in a weak conference. If he can ever beat OU, then he will survive there.
I have a lot of fun with the cows now.
Here is how it goes:
My question, So texas is a great academic school?
Cow answer: Absolutely! Top notch education at state school prices. (Said with great pride)
Follow-up question: for sports, texas is part of which conference?
Cow answer: Big XII. Great rivalries and tradition.
Question: how many schools are part of the Big 12?
Cow: Ten (also said with pride)
So great academics, but the big 12 has only 10 teams? Excellent example of your academic prowess.

(Lots of silence ensues) So I help a little. Its okay, the "big 10" conference has more than 10 member schools...they apparently have the same type of academic standards as texas? Maybe y'all are better at the Arts and Philosphy than the Sciences?
Funny thing to me, the longhorns always enter the conversation with this air of superiority, but always end looking like a calf that just got branded. :salute:
