'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

For those of you worrying about Dormady, please stop. Look at his stats posted above and now compare them to the stats from Shea Patterson-2016 247 Composite 5*. Patterson was 13-30 for 210 yds 1 Int(2 dropped int's) and had about 145 yds rushing. I was at this game last night and Patterson looks like the real deal. However, his teammates did not help him out at all and they lost 42-13.

In high school it is all about supporting cast. If neither QB has a good supporting cast, there is no way the QB is going to look good. Everyone take a deep breath and relax.

Would you please stop making sense? We're not happy unless we have something to be miserable about.

The problem is that "his support cast sucks" sounds a lot like something that a fan might say to convince themselves that Dormady will be awesome. I've never watched his games and I'm not sure what is supporting cast looks like compared to his competition. I'd love to just believe someone, but I've read too many biased statements. I'd rather just see him improve his TD/INT ratio.

No the Coach's From UT and Ala offering and being a Consensus 4* says he is really good and supporting casts are huge. Not to mention missing last yr causes rust. Kid is an elite type QB and we are lucky to have gotten him.

So apparently Dormady has some wheels. Was previously unaware of this fact as I assumed he was just a drop back guy. It will do wonders for our offense if we have a guy a QB who is unafraid to pull it 6 to 8 times a game and get 40 to yards.

Interestingly enough when TG's team met up with a more talented team, his stats suffered...I was startled to find out that, dating back to Otto Graham, QBs don't win games by themselves!...they heavily swing games in their teams' favor...but never complete passes when their heads are buried in turf or receivers in the fetal position...it seems harsh to throw Dormady's team under the bus, but they're average AT BEST...maybe a year of not playing ties in with the interceptions or it's overcompensating for team shortcomings? Just dismiss it as excuse making for people viewing this kid as a future asset, if that's your wont, but it seems that Butch and company veer that way. :hi:

For those worried about the INTs, here is a take from someone named spydersoldier on VQ who was acknowledged by Coach Jake on twitter and was at last nights game to see Dormandy play

First, Dormady is the real deal. Good feet, lot of zip on the ball, and throws on time. Also a big kid that is faster than any QB on the roster. Not as fast as Jennings but not far from it. Will definitely be more of a threat to keep on the read option. Very accurate. Threw a couple of INTs but that's because he thinks he can fit any ball in the smallest window. Threw a couple of comeback routes that the ball was gone before the receiver turned around and hit him right in the numbers. Don't know how Dobbs will improve but it looks like Dormady will play next year.
Butch and coach jake are very nice and engaging. Never felt like they were trying to end the conversation or push me off and they took pictures. They thanked me for my service asked me about where I have been. Coach jake said he imagined I played before because I am a big guy. There were a handful of Vols fans there and i got to meet SoTexVol with Smokey. Coach Jones said me and my wife made his day and he really seems so genuine which is why i understand how great a recruiter he is. They truly are all about relationships and it shows. All the videos and interviews I see on the internet and to now have met them in person, it seems surreal. On another note, he said that he will be in nashville tomorrow and then to north carolina to see Shy Tuttle. I told him we need and have to get Shy Tuttle. Butch said "we will, i promise you that!" Early BOOMAGE!!!! One of the better days of my life.

Dormandy was that one battle in a world war. Wait that was Normandy.

Backing into an sec championship game is not and should not be considered just fine for our program. We had no business being there. Complete luck. I want to be mad about 3-4 losses again :(

How's it backing in? We lost less conference games than our opponents, that's earning it. We beat USC and hammered UGA, a BCS team. If we had played 4 OOC cupcakes rather than Cal we would've been 10-2. Don't forget we took a national championship LSU team down to the wire in the SECCG.
