On Tuesday, Tennessee head coach Butch Jones and offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian spent the day in Borene, Texas, meeting with Dormady and his family as Dormady is just a month away from being on campus at Tennessee.
"It was a good visit. It's kind of weird talking to them because I'm taking my official visit next weekend so I still have that and then I'll be back-and-forth from being up there then coming home and then being up there for good in early January," Dormady said. "It was a good visit, just caught up. The last time they were down here they watched me play but we couldn't talk or anything like that. Nothing specific, it was just good to get to know he coaches more. That was a big thing on why I chose Tennessee; it feels like home. Everybody is so welcoming, the fan base is welcoming and that's how I feel about it."
"They had a tremendous season, building on what they did last year and making it to a bowl game this year, which I think is huge," Dormady said. "The season was a lot of fun to watch. Then, just thinking that I'm going to be a part of that team next year and help them try and build on this season is just fun to think about. I can't wait to be a part of it and help them build."
When he arrives in Knoxville in early January he hopes to pick up the offense as quick as he can while getting to know his new teammates. "I'm just going to try and pick up things in the offense as fast as I can and things like that," Dormady said. "Then, try and put on some weight and get bigger, faster and stronger. Getting to know the guys will be big for the first month or whatever as we build for the next four or five years."
