'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Dormady won't?

Good chance he would. IMO though if a situation played out like last year and Dobbs/Peterman went down to injury, I'd expect to see Dormady 1st to lose the RS as of now. If Jennings is throwing the ball a lot better than he is now, maybe he would be an option but as of now I think he will RS for sure.

QD is definitely the better passer but coming off of an injury and going into a zone read spread offense. TG could thrive in this offense and simply move chains with his legs. As far as seeing the field 1st, I think TG would have his own package year 1, and QD would be a RS candidate.

So...we set up an option package for a non EE true freshman?...and let Dobbs sit on the bench? If Dobbs wins out, we take him out for a play or series?...so a true freshman can run forHIM?...I disagree.

I would be really surprised if TG does not RS wherever he ends up.

Alot will have to go right for whoever we take to red shirt. We go into next year with Dobbs, Peterman, and whoever we take this year. If Dobbs goes down with an injury we're either playing Peterman or one of those true freshman.

These kids will not be getting to campus till after Worley is gone. :p

Just about any QB we get is going to RS. LV has this delusion that TG is the only QB that needs work to be good. QD would not come here and start. He would RS just like Gibson, Francois, Waller, Gentry or any other QB would have.

Your right I don't expect QD to be a day 1 starter at UT.

I agree but think if he ends up at AU, which I think he does he could play some his FR yr with Nick Marshall graduatng. Atleast I think Marshall will be a SR this yr. Definitely see Dormady as the better fit in our offense and Gibson better in AU. Marshall showed you can throw just enough to keep defenses honest. Hell people knew AU was gonna run and still couldn't stop them. Hopefully Dormady to UT in the next few days.

I honestly think any qb we get in 15 might get recruited over by the 2016 qb depending on that class... I think 2016 is deep with potential

I've mentioned it many times. I could see it happening as well.

This is why I prefer to gamble with gibson. I'd take an Austin Kendall type as a true freshman over a redshirt freshman dormady. So I'd gamble on the guy with ridiculous potential rather than the guy who will be good but has a lower ceiling.

haha I am not being rude.. just look at when we offered each. just recently started talking to Dormady.

I think you guys are looking great for Dormady regardless of Waller. I am in no way saying we are 'passing' on him. BOL writers still think we lead for Dormady but it does not seem like it to me.

Not trying to offend yall.. just saying we have recruited Waller much longer, although I don't see us having a real shot at him.

I think we will end up with a scrub QB but I hope I am wrong.

Once Dormady plays his SR year, where do you think he will rank? Rivals has him very low as he was injured. 247 has him rated higher as a QB in the 2015 class than they do Kendall in the 2016 class. I think how he does as a SR really factors into his final standing as a QB per the recruiting services. Also as a RSFR, that year in the system is a huge deal. I would actually expect Dobbs to be the starter in 2015 and 2016 so the 2015 guys could be more less recruited over and still RS the 2016 guy.

As much as I hate to admit it, Saban doesn't get scrubs.

I expect dormady to end up right around the 150. I think Kendall ends up as a top 75 player on both easily.. But I'm no expert I thought Kendall would be a 5 star. Heard Kendall showed out this past weekend and really liked his film.

I'd say with confidence that the fact that QD and his parents were impressed so much with UT, that they stayed an extra two days, says that UT is his top choice of schools and that Alabama was a fall back option.
