This could be interesting.

The posters on the Virginia Tech 247 board have convinced themselves that Taylor is going to pick us tomorrow, but Callahan and Rucker haven't said anything about this guy. Nobody has changed their CB, but it might be worth checking tomorrow morning.

Well this is getting exciting.

Is there an announcement time set?

I'd take whoever wants in at this point, BUT I think maybe
Phillips because he is in-state.

From what I read, some sources actually think it will be UT. Others say it's a coin toss. Either way, you have to think with VT leading for Sweat and possibly DeBerry and already having 3 DE commits, it could factor in. This kid would be a great get though for the Leo

I'm sorry to be that guy, but what time is he announcing today? From reading the tea leaves I think he will be a Vol today.

Per Hubbs

Tennessee continues to look for a rush defensive end and one of the top targets there is Darrell Taylor. Taylor is likely to announce for Virginia Tech on Friday but the Vols are hoping he follows through with an official visit to Knoxville as that he continues to show Tennessee some interest.

So why would Taylor commit somewhere and then continue to take official visits almost immediately after? Friday is his birthday and he's wanted to make a decision on that date so it seems he's going to stick to that date even though the commitment may not be the firmest. That one is a wait and see situation.

Just odd that we haven't heard more about this guy.

It seems like there are always a few that come out of nowhere. Chance Hall was one. Stephen Griffin didn't have a lot of fanfare either. This could also be attributed to the height of the Torrance Gibson thread(s) too.

"Heading into today I said everything is swinging towards Va Tech. Then, this morning, I get a call from someone if Virginia telling me Tennessee has some momentum there these last few days and are definitely a team to watch. It would be hard for me not to still think it's going to be Va Tech, but apparently it's not done and Tennessee is for sure in it."

Yeah was surprised to see the VT board thinks he's going to be a Vol. Michael Clarke who covers Virginia for Scout and who has always been good with predictions with those kids also thinks TN could be tough to beat.

Who would everyone pick? Taylor, Walker, or Phillips?

Taylor and Phillips play different positions. Walker and Taylor are the two true weak side speed rushing ends, which TN desperately needs at least one of. I love Taylor's game. He's a completely freak athletically. He's been at the top of my want list since early Spring.

you get two Weakside DE/OLB rush ends in Taylor/Ford. Then you get a bigger guy in Butcher who will be about 260lb to play the other end. Combine that with what we already have and it looks really good.

Wow, huge news.

I also read somewhere else that Florida is starting to turn the heat up on Ford and is very close to offering. May not happen but it's something to keep an eye on.

This is exactly why you continue to recruit until NSD.

Didn't JMoore go into the military? Seems like I remember him saying something like that. Maybe he was being deployed. Not sure.

It will not matter if they offer or not. Ford is a VOL.

Callahan just posted this

Everything I heard before today suggested that, if he announced his decision tonight, it almost definitely would be Virginia Tech. But we've started to hear this morning that Tennessee might really have a chance.

I'm still looking into it, but right now I think it might be something to watch tonight.
