We are just under three hours from Shy Tuttle's announcement taking place here in Lexington, N.C., and as we've continued to say for weeks, if not months now, Tennessee is firmly the team to beat heading into today's announcement.
I'll have a lot of coverage coming from Tuttle's announcement if he indeed does choose the Vols.
We've been to several schools here in North Carolina the last few days and the consensus from numerous we've talked to is that Tennessee is becoming a formidable recruiting force in North Carolina and particularly the Western part of the state. In fact, there have been frustrations from instate schools on the job the Vols are doing after talking to several coaches. A lot of credit for that goes to Mark Elder and his dogged approach to recruit this area.
Finally, as we've said throughout this morning and after talking to a few people I think the Darrell Taylor announcement is something Vol fans are going to want to watch. There's no doubt the buzz around him the last few weeks has been Virginia Tech but Tennessee has some very real momentum heading into that one. Rivals will have someone in Hopewell, Va., tonight and he's doing it at halftime so if he chooses the Vols there will be coverage on the site. He's doing it at halftime of his game.
