'15 VA DE Darrell Taylor (UT Signee 2/4/15)

This too, is....

Ford is a freak, just like Taylor. Does it not occur to some of you that signing 4 DE's = 2 Deep rotation?

Nice reading comprehension, m8.

I never said anything about dropping Ford. Florida is about to come after him hard.

Btw, the Jackson to OT talk is very real so I'm not sure how he has anything to do with our DL depth. Maybe if you spent less time policing the board for potential "Sandusky's" and more time paying attention, you would know that info. :hi:

VQ guys have said for a while that the staff wanted another rush end. Taylor has no impact on Jackson. Jackson may end up at OT anyways.

They can be interchangeable for sure, but they aren't going to tell someone to look around who can also project as a potential OT. The guys on 247 and Rivals have said all along they want another DE in addition to what they already have committed.

You're correct. Coach Jones loves versatility.

I am not saying anyhing about Jackson, because i simply do not know. But, also remember that if Taylor commits to us tonght as some apparently believe he will, it may not affect our commitment to Jackson. But, it also does not impact our recruitment of Kyle Phillips.

Beyond that, ll i cn say is the next 4 months or so are going to be very interesting. We are not done yet on recruiting player for the 2015 class. I can see up to 5 more commitments coming our way, which means we will have to lose 5 from our list

We literally go through this every time I post lol

I have a friend on the staff. He tells me things. I put them on here. If you don't want to read what I post just put me on ignore.

I'm not doubting that you have connections nor that you've been correct on some things. However, there may be some things that are not known that would have a greater impact on his decision about where he wants to play at. As long as he has a committable offer I believe that DJ will be going to Tennessee.

After Taylor commits tonight pay close attention to the recruitment of Dylan Jackson. He will be encouraged to take that visit to LSU. And if/when he does look for him to switch. He wants to play defense and we want him for offense. Taylor is an immense upgrade over Jackson.

I'm hoping like heck that Jackson can be a decent OT. We're in no position to off a guy that can help in that department unless we have something else up our sleeves. If he really is hell-bent on defense, which would run contrary to his public statements, then yeah he can get lost.

I don't know what the latest is with Phillips, but he supposedly wanted to wait and see how the team fared this season.

That won't sit too well with some teams when they have guys equally good, if not better, willing to commit early. Take the Torrance Gibson situation. He dragged his feet on making a decision until it was too late. Tennessee was his supposed leader, but we didn't wait around, and took Dormady, instead. Now, his choices are very limited. And we aren't one of them.

Him being an OT has no more validity than Croom being a TE. People just assume a lot of nonsense on here...without any info to substantiate it.

He is in the 250lb range, and would have to gain a lot of weight to play OT. Likely bad weight. But, at his current position, DE, he is already at the size he needs to be to compete in the SEC

I got ripped for saying Jackson could end up at OT when he committed.

I will take all the talent we can get on the DLine regardless.

Jackson will be a VOL. Getting Taylor would not effect Jackson one bit. GO VOLS!!!

His point though, is that Jackson wants to play DE. He has been right a lot

He said Jackson would be encouraged to take the visit?

I disagree. John Brice of VQ has talked about how committed Jackson is. Has a UT flag in his truck. And he's every bit involved as Jack Jones in recruiting.

Taylor has no bearing on Jackson. JMO

He's going to be a wicked DE. Seeing that we've got Zach Stewart and Jack Jones committed as OL...and both could easily be OT's (rather than guards)...I don't see the pressing need to convert a DE to an OT.

Plus, you have Chance Hall and we will probably do our best to flip Richmond.
