I am told Ricky DeBerry has scheduled an official visit for the Florida weekend (Oct. 4). He also has official visits scheduled for Oklahoma (when they host Tennessee), Alabama (when they host Florida) and Texas A&M (when they play Ole Miss).

Atlee is my old high school from 3 years ago. I could ask some people around the area on where he is leaning. Mechanicsville is a slow town and Atlee just had a center go to FSU in '14. But I think that kid was way overrated. Honestly I worry about prospects from this area due to the lack of competition. But I've heard great things about the new coaching staff at AHS... particularly DeBerry's position coach. Dude has placed people in the NFL to my knowledge.

His former school, St. Christopher's in Richmond, is a preppy pipeline to UVA (for students) but the fact that he's seriously checking out big-name programs and has transferred to a public school should weaken the chances of instate schools. The official visit should be a big boost for us.

We have a double shot to impress this guy. He will be at Oklahoma for our game this weekend and he will be in Knoxville for the Florida game

Ricky DeBerry is no stranger to Tennessee having visited several times since his sophomore season, with his most recent visit coming this past summer. DeBerry has already officially visited Oklahoma and has visits scheduled for Texas A&M and Michigan State. Penn State, Virginia and Virginia Tech are all still very much in the mix as well. DeBerry has been rather quiet about his recruitment but Tennessee is a legitimate option and his family have always been very fond of the versatile linebacker/defensive end position the Vols are recruiting him at. It will be interesting to see what DeBerry has to say coming out of the visit as the Vols have long been thought of one of just a handful of schools that are a real threat to land him.

As does the fact that he lied and pretended to be a college basketball player at one point in time. And he didn't learn his lesson either, because at another point, claimed to be friends with and was texting with a high-profile college basketball recruit who was committed to Alabama (Shannon Hale) and was going to flip to Tennessee. That lie actually grew viral to the point where Hale's father had to actually deny the allegations publicly.

I know Shannon personally and he told me that he wanted to be a vol but "not getting a Tennessee offer pissed him off"

You'll have to forgive me, but I'm gonna take "I know Shannon" posts with a grain of salt after the terrific troll job by dooleydiesel. Having said that, I'm almost positive that Hale had a UT offer from not one, but two different UT staffs (Pearl and Martin). Rivals and Scout listed him with a UT offer.

Furthermore, he committed to Alabama as a sophomore, so if he wanted a UT offer so badly (assuming he didn't actually have one), why commit so early? Pearl was making him a priority early and he committed to Bama out of the blue as a sophomore.

Hale's father said UT had not contacted them in months when the rumor went viral. However, I know dooleydiesel, and I can say he does know Shannon Hale. After that, I can't tell you if Shannon really told him any of that stuff or not. This is basketball conversation in a football thread. So let's just get back to DeBerry.

When you say you know dooleydiesel...do you mean that when you wake up and go in the bathroom to brush your teeth, that dooleydiesel is staring back at you in the mirror?
