'15 VA DT Tim Settle

The thing with that though, even though I want our DT's to be getting rotated often; I feel like having four top level DT's would just be too much.

LSU disagrees...thats the 1 position they are usually deeper at than RB... and its a problem 100 out of 100 teams would love to have... I think its the most important position in football, even QB...a good Dline can dictate a game,a great Dline assures you success...

You know what, just saying that made me feel dirty so let's go big or go home!

Come on mannnnnn, what are you thinking??? You so dumb, like really really dumb.

But anyways, what I meant was taking four top level DT's in a single class. You NEED four top level DT's on your roste at a minimum if you are to compete with Bama/LSU, but I don't know if I've ever seen a school take four that good in a single class. I feel like it would cause a little bit of a bottleneck at the position. Y'all understand what I'm trying to say here?

They stay really deep at LB too. Chavis gon' Chavis.

Redshirts can widen that bottleneck. Take the talent, figure out what to do with it later.

I don't think we can keep any of these guys off the field. They are ELITE talent. I don't see too many guys on our current squad that would for sure start over them.

Another DL class like this and last years and you will see a lot of talented guys start to get redshirts.

On our current? probably not. By the time they get here? I think it's doable.

It is not possible to have too many top level DT's. We need depth, especially at DT and the more we have the better.

See the rest of my posts above for me explaining myself on this one. It makes me feel dirty just saying this since we have had such a hard time recruiting true DT's for what feels like forever, but if you take too many in one class it makes you take fewer in subsequent classes because not coaches only alot so many spots for each position. With how talented these guys are I don't think we could redshirt any of them and it might cause a DT bottleneck.

I really want all these guys but I would be just thrilled with getting 2-3 of them.

Penn State is one of the early national storylines in the Class of 2015. With six ESPN 300 commitments already in the fold, and the No. 3 ranking in the fist edition of the RecruitingNation class rankings, the Nittany Lions are positioned nicely to make a run at top-five class, even though scholarship restrictions are still in place.

Here are 10 players, nine of whom are in the ESPN300.

No. 10 Tim Settle: The five-star defensive tackle has Alabama, Penn State, Virginia and Florida State seriously in the mix along with Oklahoma, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. He has the ability to lift a class that is knocking on the door into the top five all by himself"

No mention of us. That's weak sauce

It has been so long since the Vols had the luxury to redshirt real talent (not including injuries). Can't wait

Yeah that article is just blatantly wrong. We are in his top 3 and I haven't heard any mention of him and PSU.

Yea you got that right, that's for sure just a fluff piece. SIAP, but here is a clip that was posted 4/26 (Sat night) after the NFTC Camp in DC.

“I’m going to trim it down in August to 14,” said Settle, who earned an invitation to The Opening Saturday after a stellar performance at the Nike Football Training Camp at Centreville High School in Clifton, Va.

“Clemson, Tennessee and Florida State are three I know that will make it. With Clemson, it’s family down there. It’s a great place, a great campus, great players and they are on the come up. Tennessee has a great campus and great fans. Coach [Butch] Jones and I are real tight. I talk to Coach Jones weekly. With Florida State, Coach [Odell] Haggins is great. He works with me, and helps me with what I need to do to improve. I really like our relationship.”

For those that make the top 14, surviving the November cut will be the next hurdle.

“After the season, I’m going to have a top five,” he said. “Then when I’m ready to commit, I’ll have a top three and have three hats on the table when I announce my decision.”

Settle plans to announce his decision at the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game or on national signing day.

And we see where that got them..

Eh, I dunno. They rode Timmy Jernigan to the national title just like the Barn rode Nick Fairley to theirs. That guy is an animal. I specifically remember the commentators commenting when Jernigan had to come out for a breather that it was going to hurt their defense, and it did. Auburn lined up and ran it down their throat until he came back in.

There was definitely a huge difference when he went out of the game. That young man is a one man wrecking crew.
