'15 VA OL Matthew Burrell

Not enough.

Ideally you're right. IMO it's not a 1 year fix kind of thing though. 2014, 2015, 2016 and UT's OL should be as strong as anyone talent wise. Those thinking the 2015 class is going to fix the issues no matter how many they take IMO it's just not happening. Most if not all the guys in the 2015 OL will be RSing anyway so they will not make much of an impact in the 2015 season IMO. Once the 2016 OL class(3-5 guys) is on campus then we'll be alright going forward.

So far...Jones, Hall, Boulware(OT/OG).

They are on the way.

:good!:

I could see Jones and Boulware ending up at Guard. If we have the right guys bring on 6 OL. I honestly wouldn't care. We need depth in the trenches. You need to build your team around your lines. Doesn't matter if you have amazing skill players if you can't get them the ball.

I agree. IMO they should have made the OL more of a priority earlier in recruiting for this cycle. I'm curious to see how things finish this year recruiting wise. I still have a feeling it's Richmond or nothing on the OL going forward. I just can't see many OL guys willing to flip to UT and be the 5th, 6th, or 7th OL taken this year. There are just too many good schools looking for the same thing UT is out there to all decide to go to one.

Shoot well I hope this means they view Boulware and Jones as Tackles. Although for future we do need both.

In looking at the guys CBJ has taken this year, I think Jones is the most reasonable OT option. Boulware also said in his commitment interview that UT's coaches see him as a possible OT as well. I would not be surprised at all to see us with (3) OT's and (1) OG as of right now in the 2015 class.

It sucks but I completly agree. This is not something that is going to be a quick fix. You don't rexruit well on the O-line for a few classes and it's going to take a few classes to fix. Everyone knows that you win in the trenches, especially in the SEC, but this year has shown just how true that sentiment really is. Everyone loves getting the flashy skill position players (myself included) but give me a 5 star OT over a 5 star WR every time....depending on the circumstances (who you have committed already and what your roster looks like) of course, but you guys know what I mean.

wondering when you will get tired of this...can't imagine it is much fun with everyone having figured you out...

I think a couple or more guys could come in and find a spot on the 2 deep or start. I think it will be more of a testament to the weaknesses of or current OL than it is to the strength of the incoming class. if you have watched some of the current guys then you know our talent level is as about as down as I've ever seen it. As much as I and everyone else would like to see these guys come in and RS like they should, It's just not going to be terribly difficult for some of these guys to come in and beat out some on the current OL just off of pure athleticism and talent. It's not an ideal situation but I think it could be the case. Just my opinion of course.

I think the OL will show some significant improvement next year, even if all of this year prospects redshirt... which If somehow we get Richmond flipped, no way that happens Richmond will be playing... you still have to consider the growth and improvements this years YOUNG line will make. I mean, they havta get better, right?

He was honestly the best RT all year (besides when Jake played there). Sad stuff. He's not that great as a TE

Man that's the truth. He truly played an in-line TE at Stanford and was mainly used in the run game. I say we beef him up and slide him to tackle and give it a shot. Draft another TE because he is NOT the replacement for Tony G. Falcons should just start over from scratch.
