'15 VA OT Austin Clark

"I went to their camp this summer and that was the first time I got to meet them and talk with them," Clark said. "They offered me a couple of days after camp and Foundation Day was the first day I had been back since then."

"It was a lot of fun. It was really cool. I got to talk to coach Mahoney a lot more and coach Jones. I really liked that," Clark said. "Coach Mahoney said that they'd really love to have me and that I'm everything they look for in an offensive lineman. I really like Tennessee and coach Mahoney and coach Jones. I think coach Jones is going to do great things at Tennessee."

"I kind of grew up a Tennessee fan and my dad has been a Tennessee fan since he was a teenager," Clark explained. "I went to a couple of games when I was younger with my dad and it was pretty cool for us to come back and see Neyland Stadium and it brought back a lot of memories."

"I really like the way the coaches coach. I went to their camp and coach Mahoney shows you exactly what he wants and he shows you how to get it done," Clark said. "I really like coach Jones. I think he's going to do a great job at Tennessee."

wonder if he commits soon and closes out the OL 2015 class

The article also says he's taking things one step at a time and doesn't have any favorites. Says he wants to see games at UT, UVA, VT and PSU this fall. Also that he talks to our coaches 1-2x a week.

I hope he goes to all of those places so he knows how much better UT is than all of those schools!

Other than an outstanding work ethic, this might be the biggest difference between this staff and the last staff. This staff is aggressively recruiting the 2015 class when we're only halfway through the 2014 cycle.

We should have the 2020 class locked up by 2017 at this rate.

My son is 2 1/2 years old. Butch Jones called the other day asking for his measurables. I asked him why he was calling about my son at such a young age. He said 2028 is just around the corner. Butch "Gets it".

Your son must be a WR.

Clark, Richmond, and Edoga would all be nice as the last OL spot...

I say we take Edoga so that we can wrap up the RB Griffin, and continue hounding Richmond and if he chooses us we just take one less of another position.

Can never have too many good OL

Saw Clark last night at a jamboree. Very good feet. A lean 280, can carry another 30 lbs. easily.

I think he's a legit National Top 100 type prospect. Hopefully Tennessee can get him in the fold early. The '15 OL class has the potential to be one of their best hauls ever.

SKILL ASSESSMENT: A versatile lineman that can line up at several positions, Clark plays with a rugged demeanor and could end up at guard on the next level.

STATUS WITH VOLS: Clark grew up in a house where the father was a die-hard Tennessee fan and Clark himself went to several Tennessee games growing up. Clark now says he's not a fan of any team as the recruiting process begins, it doesn't hurt he grew up cheering for the Vols. He was on campus twice this summer

OTHERS INVOLVED: Virginia Tech, Virginia, Penn. State, North Carolina, Duke

Give me Richmond and whoever wants in first between the guy and Edoga and I will be more than happy with our OL haul for 2015

"I'm up to nine offers right now," he said. "I have offers from Tennessee, Penn State, UVa, Maryland, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, and Temple. Wake offered me yesterday and Temple offered me on Thursday."

"Right now it's still a little early for me to decide which schools I like more and everything," he said. "I would say UVa, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are recruiting me the hardest right now."

"I definitely want to come back to UVa for a couple games," Clark said. "I also want to go see Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Penn State. I'm going to Virginia Tech for their game against Marshall."

"I went to the Virginia game against Oregon last week and I just visited Duke this past weekend," said the 6-foot-6, 285-pound Clark. "I'm going to Virginia Tech this coming weekend for the Marshall game and I'm actually planning on going to see Tennessee in two weeks.

"I recently picked up offers from Wake Forest and Temple," Clark said. "Right now I really don't have any favorites. I talk to Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech more than the others. I try to call them at least once or twice a week.

"From Tennessee I'm getting to know Coach Stripling and Coach Mahoney," he said. "I also got to talk to Coach Jones the last couple times I called. At Virginia I talk to Coach Wachenheim a lot. He's the main guy I talk to there. I talk to coach grimes at Virginia Tech a lot."

"One of Tennessee's top offensive line prospects for the class of 2015 is expected in town as well Saturday as Austin Clark has said he will be in town. As we've said multiple times, Clark comes from a family of Tennessee fans and has been to games as a child growing up so it's good sign the Vols will get him on campus for the third time since June."
