I know you're tossing that at Auburn but when you say something like that it disparages the young man being recruited also.
I don't see how. Taking money to go to a University might be against the (stupid) rules of the NCAA, but there is no moral quandary there. Hell, if anything, I would consider it morally questionable if he turned down money (if his family needs it) to go somewhere else.
If I were an elite high school athlete, I would surely take any payment offers under consideration.

Not me if it against the rules I'm not taking the money.
Just kidding I'm taking the money then faxing my loi to UT.
Just a hunch, but if booster's are paying recruits, I imagine it's after the LOI is in. I'm sure as hell not making an "investment" before I know if it'll even pay off. We see how fickle these kids are, I couldn't imagine dropping a few G's on them then they sign elsewhere.

Alabama wide receiver Velus Jones was expected to visit that weekend but he decided to push it back and will take in the Michigan-Ohio State game instead. But, from those we've talked to we're not sure that's a bad sign.
Apparently Jones wants to be able to spend the maximum amount of time with coaches and so he's planning on visiting the weekend of Dec. 6. We continue to hear that Tennessee is very much in the thick of the Jones recruitment. He has plans to Oklahoma and Michigan over these next two weekends. A key in his recruitment though, will be where Tee Martin ends up.
I'd be extremely happy if we get this kid. I'd take him and pull the heat off Mecole. He can blow the top off of a defense, is bigger, and looks like more of a natural WR. I personally think this kid will be a star at the college level. He runs very good routes and understands the game very well.
Has Jones shown any interest in Tennessee? Checking 247 it doesnt seem like it. I am sure we are probably hoping a coaching change with bring him, but that seems unlikely. Unless I am missing something.
