This sounds pretty clear to me..

No one is questioning whether he signed or not. What is in question is what document he signed, a FAA or a LOI.

Unless for some weird reason it was just the financial aid agreement he signed, because that is what is being speculated.

Nothing surprises me with kongbos dad

Jonathan Kongbo's father is no longer an issue. As has been explained many times, Kongbo is not required to sign a LOI to enroll at Tennessee. He has told the mods on the Tennessee scout site that he will be enrolling at Tennessee in early June.

Can Kongbo change his mind? Yes he can. But, his father cannot force him to go to Ole Miss if he does not want to. Since he is a legal adult, he can make his own decisions. The National Letter of Intent is meaningless at this point

We have the scholarship waiting for him. Kongbo can just show up and enroll in the summer. He doesn't have to sign a letter of intent. His parents can't prevent him from enrolling in college. He won't go to Ole Miss, knowing how Hugh Freeze is trying to strong arm him into it.

NLI is a completely voluntary program. It's just a good idea to sign because it A. Gets all the other schools off your back ( once you sign, other schools can no longer legally recruit you) and B. it reserves financial aid for 1 full school year for the signee, while guaranteeing the signee participates in one full year of sports at that particular school.

Doesn't matter if he signs it or not, it's not like TN would be stupid enough to yank the scholarship money if he doesn't sign one. If he plays- we pay , signature or not.

Not worried behind dad would look like a giant POS if he ended up at Ole Miss and TN would raise all kinds of hell to NCAA. Ole miss is so stupid for trying to play this game with NCAA allegations in their lap

"He confirmed he has not signed his NLI and signed a FAA, but said he's in the process of getting the NLI signed.

He said he's all Vol and that won't change.

For those asking, Tennessee can announce anyone that signs a FAA or anyone that's accepted into school (that's how they announce walk ons)."

Kids aren't allowed to sign more than one nli unless the first is voided

I would have assumed he signed one at Wyoming but unless the kid is completely confused I guess he never signed one there

Per SDS.

Landing four-star DE Jonathan Kongbo was a major recruiting victory for Butch Jones’ 2016 recruiting class.

But according to a report from Rebels247, the nation’s top JUCO prospect is not officially a Vol just yet.

The report claims that Kongbo has yet to file his letter of intent six days after National Signing Day.

Needless to say, that’s a concerning development for a Tennessee team that has already celebrated the talented defender as one of its own.

According to SEC Country, which was able to contact Kongbo directly about the report late Monday, it is a matter of getting a signature from his father and not about an uncertain feelings towards the Vols program.

“My dad has been away,” Kongbo told SEC Country. “He will sign it when he gets home.”

When asked if he was looking at other schools, Kongbo said, “I’m not looking around. I’m not interested in anybody else.”

Kongbo has completed financial aid paperwork with Tennessee, which is how the school was able to promote him on signing day, according to the report.
