Seems like it's been forever since we've had any recruiting activity! This has to be the longest drought for recruiting news since Butch took over as head coach.

Maybe we will sign 3 or 4 on NSD, with the numbers being low for this class we got to save a few spot just in case we can flip 2 or 3 the last week, i am like you this seems like a long drought in recruiting the last 2 years seem like we got a verbal every week or 2 seems like its been 3 months sense we got a commit, i do wish we could get a top RB recruit because in 17 we will have one of the best OL in the SEC, now we need somebody to run behind it, I know we got Kelley but we need 3 good RB"s this time next year we will be wondering if Hurd will come back for the 17 season, so if he goes after next year we will be thin at RB.

What concerns me a little bit is that despite having fewer scholly's to give in this class, we seem to have gotten verbals from several players whom I would've thought this staff would have been a little more selective about. Perhaps some are just there in case we miss out on bigger fish, however I found it a little surprising we accepted so many 3* verbals so early on.

Fils-Aime is a stud! He is ridiculously underated and I easily rate him as a 5 star. Coming off an injury, his stats this year have been off the charts. Great pickup and RB is the least of my worries!

We should be looking for playmakers in the secondary.

That's why Nigel Warrior is a must get!

I was just coming here to ask how our recruiting was going so far this year because I hadn't heard much. Given the last couple years with top 5 classes I was hoping for yet another but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. We're currently ranked 15th on ESPN's recruiting site.

Does Debord have something to do with the lack of recruits this year?

Yeah all the recruits think he smells funny.

Poor Coach DeBord. Like Rodney Dangerfield, he gets no respect. We have a lower rating simply because we have fewer openings. Butch front loaded over the past two years to fill the many holes left by Dooley. This class will be more about building depth at key positions of need.

Fingers or whoever has the best info, does Joejuan committing to Vandy mean that we are going all-in on Warrior? Also, does Pruett's hiring at Bama mean that Mecole is now a Bama lean? Finally, what is the status of Derrick Brown?

I don't get this line of thinking. If rivals only uses the top 20 prospects per team and we sign 20 then what excuse do we have to not finish at the top. It's crazy to think you have to recruit 30 players every year to get a top 5 or 10 class when only 20 players are used for team ranking

I'm digging around VolNation for a 2016 recruiting update (how many can be signed, how many spot left, who are we working to close, primary positions of need). I would appreciate if one of you experts could point me to a link or provide a summary.

With the short amount of time left to NSD, how much impact do factors like Gruden hamming it up on the sideline in orange at the Outback, the outcome of the game, and all the talk during and after the game by sports analysts of UT's championship potential going to have on those prospects not yet committed.

I would think it certainly doesn't hurt. May impress some while others may yawn. Hard to tell. As far as number go they were expected to sign 20 but Jones has shown some clever numbers juggling so it might possibly be a couple more. Kongbo [solidifying him], Hardman, Warrior are the three biggies I can think of right off. There are others of course. The latest two Niehaus and Buchanan are both solid players to commit. Came after the bowl win so what does that tell you?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for every Junior that leaves early, we could conceivably add one spot to this class if we wanted to.
