lol perfect image for that post. I also loved reading those Iowa Taxslayer predictions and game thread. After their 1st series, it was gold!

You haven't made it in recruiting until people start throwing out unwarranted "they're cheating/paying recruits" posts.

Love this guy's potential and combo of size amd athleticism. BOOM! GBO!

"Coach Jones and coach Elder met with my coach today," said the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Brooks. "I called them after that when I got to school this morning and talked to them about where the program is going. I asked them one last question about why they want me to come to Tennessee so bad and what they value in me so much. They talked for a couple minutes about that and then I told them that I love Tennessee and that I see the program moving forward in the know want to be part of it. I'm committing to Tennessee and I'm proud to be a Vol."

"I have the most contact with coach Elder," he said. "Him and I talk every few days. We've developed a very good relationship and I'm excited that he's going to be my tight ends coach for the next three to four years. I'm pretty excited.

"Coach Jones and I don't talk as often," Brooks said. "He's very busy guy. When we get the chance will ask each other how it's going and everything."

"I'm almost clear to do just about everything," he said. "In another two or three months I will be 100-percent.

"I'm expecting to bring a relentless effort and I want to be that security blanket for the quarterback," said Brooks. "Just like Jason Witten is Tony Romo's security blanket right now for the Cowboys. I bring a lot of versatility because I can block and I can also catch and they can put me out wide. I'm hoping to bring that to Tennessee and I know that they'll use me to the best of our abilities to win championships."

Guy wants to be like Jason Witten. Very smart young man, and great player to want to play like.

Seems like a smart kid, well spoken. And a monster. Excellent

This kid must be one hell of an athlete if he's rated 4* at 2 different positions. Did I misread that? Doesnt matter since he's projected as a TE I guess.

Wow, big-time pick up! Have not watched his film yet but he's got a really nice frame and speed combination for a junior. Could easily be 245 by the time he enrolls. We are recruiting numerous prospects from the DC area next year. Terrell Hall (HS teammate) is a 4 star DE and he also holds an offer from TN. There is 4 star OG Richard Merritt from DC and he lists us as one of the early schools in the mix. Lastly, apparently Coach Mo said Juan Williams, 4 star OT out of DC, is "#1 on his list". Could be a really big year in D.C. for us.

Sounds like this kid was setting Butch up with the way that conversation was going. He threw the knockout punch there at the end with "I am proud to be a Vol." If I were Butch I would have probably ran right through my closed office door, down Fort Loudon Blvd, sprinted round Neyland Drive, then James White, and then down the middle of I-40 passing a couple of 18 wheelers.

But, then again, Butch might be used to this by now!

“It was just a connection right off the bat with the coaches; (tight ends) coach (Mark) Elder, especially,” Brooks said. “We talk every few days, and you can catch up on things. It’s the atmosphere, the area, it was beautiful place, and everything seems to be moving in the right direction in the program.

“My parents felt really comfortable as well. It was very important for them to feel comfortable wherever I went. They loved it. They can see all of my games. It’s everything about Tennessee, including the fan base.”

I feel like our 2016 clas when it's all said and done will be about 20 overall recruits, 3 will be five stars, 14 4 stars, and 3 3stars. Which will still be around #4-5 ranked class in america!
