'16 FL CB Tyler Byrd (UT Commit 2/2/16)

Play all your best players any way you can. Use him like FSU did with Jalen Ramsey prior to this year.

Dale Carter was a safety for us, so I don't disagree. I think Byrd has NFL potential at corner but we have some good to great prospects at corner that may not be able to swing safety as well...Osborne and Abernathy.

Just put Evan Berry on the field somewhere. Anywhere. He's sure to make a difference.

He's another Devin Hester on Offense. Not great hands for a WR, not great build for a RB, but once the ball is in his hands...WATCH OUT!.

Hester should have been a good CB. idk...
If Berry does get beat out at safety, then he's still an ALL-AMERICAN KR.

I would support Evan Berry moving to slot, but his upside is higher at safety.

Warrior might be the guy. I just have a strange feeling about him.

The newcomers have time to find their place. UT has good starting talent at al positions on offense and defense.

Experience means a lot. Moseley and Foreman both made strides and have played a lot of SEC football. Wouldn't be suprised to see Sutton moved to Nickel with the added depth at corner.

Lol I bet if the fans on canesinsight saw that last pic they'd use it as more evidence that Byrd is "soft."

Moseley has some work to do. He looked like all he did was gain weight. Abernathy and Foreman will be in the thick of things.

Good to have so many options instead of wondering who the heck we will have to fill the positions...

Better than having Teague at CB. 😂😂😂😂 There's not one player outside of Maggitt on the Dooley defenses that would start on the 2016 defense. The talent upgrade is just ridiculous. I'd take the second string over those defenses. 😂😂😂😂😂

Edit: Add Janzen Jackson to that list.

Agreed, and that is a great sigh of relief of how far we have came. Maybe AJJ, maybe. But not really, I'd take a sophomore DK over a sophomore AJJ any day.

I think we'll be saying we'd take a sophomore DKjr over a Senior AJJ after this upcoming season.

Kirkland over the second half of the season was better than AJ at anytime during his career. The talent difference is apparent. He's much more disruptive.

I'll take DK freshman year over AJJ. I'll deal with the growing pains. His talent made more big plays first year than I watched AJJ make for 4 years.

Agreed.

Different caliber of player, and that's no slight to AJ.

DKjr is different. He's special.

I was an AJ fan but seeing DK in his role.... Wow totally different level of player.

People thought I was dogging AJJ when he was here. I liked that he played hard but he shouldn't have been a LB at Tennessee. Our program should only keep the elite ball players. Kirkland is an example of that. Dude may end up as our top defender next season. The D-line will keep him clean. With his speed and instincts running free it will be trouble. He was in on a lot of plays from Bama until the end of the year.

This is from a 247 reporter David Lake:
Just wanted to address the recent tweet about Tyler Byrd. Don't want to go into details about everything, but yes a player on the current UM team spooked Byrd about sticking with Miami. On his official visit to Miami, this player put some stuff in Byrd's head that made him really think about Tennessee.

Combine that factor with having the opportunity to play with Carlin, his closest friend, at Tennessee and Byrd just felt more comfortable at UT.

But Miami players are denying it:
Sheldrick Redwine (Miami CB) tweeted shortly after "This jit lying OMG"

The 247 reporter locked the thread after people started claiming the report was BS and asking for his sources

It was probably Malik Forman
😏
