'16 FL CB Tyler Byrd (UT Commit 2/2/16)

True, but this was a long jump.

Either way it illustrartes his raw explosion.

Hes a future Millionaire at CB. His talent shouldnt be wasted being overrun and ultimately injured under Azzani.

Let him get some bubble screen and jet sweeps every now and then. But dont let Azzani get a hold of him permanently. Please God dont...

You should probably look up the definition of "broad jump" before you try correcting others.

I can't figure out if you're a troll or just 12.

Wait. The guy was saying Tyler Byrd won the long jump not the broad jump, which is true.

And the long jump and broad jump are not the same thing.

No way that's true. Earlier he was claiming our DB's were undersized because they were under 190.

Either way there's still a difference between the broad jump and long jump. There's even an article explaining how different athletes excel at each one. So......

What exactly do you think broad means?

Broad jump from a two feet planted standstill, aka the standing long jump or broad jump.

The long jump, which Byrd did, is when an athlete runs down a runway and jumps.

You're just a little wrong here and it happens.

The words are 100% interchangeable

Man how is it interchangeable if one involves a running start and one doesn't? There's nothing interchangeable about that. To put it in perspective, Marquis Goodwin apparently qualified for the Olympics in the long jump but didn't have a top 5 broad jump at the combine.

You're talking about the difference between a standing long/broad jump and a running long/broad jump. Either can be known as a long or broad jump

Yes, apparently 100 years ago, people in the US and the U.S. ONLY, called the Olympic event that's now known as the long jump "the broad jump". Apparently around the turn of the century they started using the term long jump and the term broad jump went out of vogue UNTIL it came back and was used to describe a DIFFERENT activity entirely which was the athlete crouching down from a set position with no running start.:hi:.

What did I ever do to you?

He won the long jump state title.

I've never once been critical of you. I actually enjoy your information.

Whats your deal?

I don't have a good answer. A mix of Mother's Day bourbon and a general liking of Coach Z. My bad. Thanks for being more adult than myself

Can't believe my first post is to jump into this... But here goes. When I was a kid, field day included the running long jump or running broad jump and the standing broad jump. Too much ado about nothing really. Jmo.
