'16 FL CB Tyler Byrd (UT Commit 2/2/16)

If you know a more accurate term to describe someone who is compelled to comment on everything then by all means please share.

The absence of a "more accurate term" does not prove that you used "long winded" correctly. In fact, you used it incorrectly as long winded refers to a speech or writing that is long and continuous to the point of tedium. Since it was clearly your intent to be insulting, more accurate terms for "someone who is compelled to comment on everything" would include "know-it-all" or "smart aleck." However, I would use a more neutral term like "prolific" to describe Butchna's posting.

Averages 700 posts per month. A reasonable person might consider that to be "long and continuous to the point of tedium". But whatever, its a free forum in a free country. :eek:k:

100% long winded - you've got to comment on everything...the productive things you could have done with all that time.

You're exaggerating...since we're on the "long winded" theme. :). Prolly due to me disagreeing with pretty much everything you present...including breathing patterns.

And you spend your "productive time" counting how much "free" time I spend on here...with total disregard of the lepers you could be curing with said time. :loco:

A reasonable person might consider the primary definition of the word "continuous." A reasonable person might ensure they are using words and phrases correctly before reducing an unprovoked and insulting message to writing for everyone to read. A reasonable person might not spend his/her time calculating the average posting frequency of a complete stranger on the internet. A reasonable person might admit s/he used a term incorrectly when it is as plain as the nose on his/her face.

Sorry someone was rude to you. VN is a great place, but we do seem more divisive these days than when I started in 2006.

I love when new posters come on board, but I completely understand if you go back to lurking. It's hard to have a real discussion, even on the recruiting forum.

Welcome, though!

VolInAZ and others, thanks for the welcome.

I admit, it's much easier to spot joking and sarcasm when you are not involved in the conversation! I will try not to wear my feelings on my shirtsleeve... :salute:

I love all the great info on this board. When my hubby tries to fill me in on some recruiting tidbit he heard on the radio, I'm like yeah I already knew that. Not sure how much I will participate but this really is a great board and I enjoy following and sharing in the excitement as our Vols get back to glory.

One post being 20 paragraphs long..that is long winded. One speech, or sermon or lecture that goes on and on and on...that is long winded. 100 different one liner emoji filled posts a day is not.

Unless said posts were consecutive in the same thread with little to no time in between each one :)
