'16 FL CB Tyler Byrd (UT Commit 2/2/16)

That would really suck to turn down Buchanon ON NSD if we literally just told him not to take visits to hold a spot. I get that you have to get the best players...but that would suck big time.

Huh?

I said nothing about Buchanon

Edit: Saw your reply.

Yep. I'm an idiot.

No. I'm sure I confuse people all the time. Sometimes I use first names, sometimes last names. Bailey would be an easy one. Unfortunately some would still be fine dropping him as long as it meant signing ANY 4*, doesn't matter who as long as they have more stars.

SInce it appears that Brooks and Pope are using official visits next weekend, there is only room for 3 more.

Warrior
Kongbo
Byrd.

According to who?

No one knows the number. I've heard anything from 20-23 from reputable people.

And if you remember last year no one knew the number either. Everyone said there was no way we sign 28. We ended up signing 30.

Zach Stewart OL from last class. Was going to blue shirt, but lost a parent. Having trouble dealing with it.

Hello Leb, you mentioned you want CHJ to hold his a scholarship for him through the summer at least.

In the business world if a job applicant got a job, and then lost a parent before starting work, most employers would give them time to get their personal matters in order. A few days or maybe even a few weeks. But the company would not hold open a position for a year and then not even be sure if that person is ever even going to come to work for them, keep it I unfilled.

Same holds with Stewart's scholarship, it is terrible what happened, but we should use the scholarship on an athlete that will show up in the fall most likely, not one that may never come back from his personal tragedy. That sounds cold, I realize that. It is just what should be done in the best interest of the football program.

Bruce did count I believe. He just didn't last long.

Bruce offered to blueshirt as I recall. So if I understand things correctly, he didn't count.

My opinion is that Byrd may be one of most impressive kids of this class if we can sign him. I watched that Army All-American game footage and he looked like Deon Grant out there.

Could be 4 if they don't hold a spot for Stewart. I hope they do.

They don't have to "hold" a spot for Stewart to have a spot for Stewart. If that makes sense. I've never seen a spring where at least one player didn't transfer or not qualify. I think the staff here has to take the players to fill the team now.

byrd plans to take an official visit to tennessee next weekend with his teammate, carlin fils-aime, who is committed to the volunteers. Following his trip to miami, byrd says his commitment to um is strong.

“i am solidly committed to miami,” byrd said. “i am going to see what tennessee has to offer and miami knows that. I pretty much like everything about miami.”

The "U" gave it their best but familiar with Tennessee Richt knows it will be tough to hold onto Byrd

Man. Reading that hurricanes site thread on Byrd is high entertainment. The butthurt is very strong there.

I have to agree with D4H that no one (here) truly knows how many we can sign. Best to enjoy the ride cause this NSD is gonna be a fun rollercoaster.

How do you know they don't like Johnson better?

That's not really the point. It seems that too many people, especially on here feel one guy is a take over another based on the ranking alone. If Butch doesn't drop a 3* for a 4* every time he is not getting the best for UT. Them passing on Victor was just the example I used in this situation.
