That's how I feel. Maybe it has more to do with TB already decommitting bc of a coaching change. HS coaches especially in the south believe their job entitles them to a say in players recruitmemt. Having an opinion or giving advise is what they are there for. This is completely out of bounds but I don't expect anything less in silly season.
Especially at power programs and I would consider Naples up there with the success Kramer has had since taking over in the late 90's. Faced Naples in 2 Kickoff Classics in HS and never really cared for him or the program. My cousins graduated from Naples HS (neither played football), they were bball guys, but they didn't care for him when they were in school.
I have always been high on Gaulden, didn't he have like 37 tackles in one game his senior year of hs?

### This is one of the types of subplots that makes sports so interesting: Most recruiting services say the best recruit in this UM class is cornerback Tyler Byrd. And whos the person charged with taking him away from Miami?
Larry Scott, Miamis interim coach for the final six games last season. Scott, now Tennessees tight ends coach, has been courting Byrd, and Byrd has agreed to take a visit to Knoxville this week. Tennessee began pursuing Byrd vigorously after Scott joined the staff, not a coincidence.
Based on what Byrd has said, Scott apparently isnt doing any negative-recruiting against Miami. Thats not surprising; Scott is a classy guy.
Another factor that has UM feeling a bit anxious: Byrd lives with Volunteer running back commit Carlin Fils-aime and considers him a brother. Fils-aime has been committed to the Vols since July and will join Byrd in Knoxville this weekend.
UM must hope that Byrd doesnt fall in love with the Tennessee coaching staff and the UT campus this weekend. Byrd has said Tennessee has a lot of ground to cover to reach Miamis level in his eyes.
Note: Interesting that the article doesn't mention Latrell Williams being dropped by Miami for visiting UT.
It will be a bad deal for Williams if Miami dropped him for taking the visit and then UT doesn't have room for him after pushing him to visit. Can't blame the canes though. If a kid is taking visits in late January, he isn't committed.
I wonder if Richt drops Byrd if he makes the visit?

MR has to finesse Byrd-- he's their prize recruit. If Miami threatened to drop Byrd for visiting UT, he could decommit. He's already said he's visiting no matter what. If Byrd visits with his family-- and they're headed to Knoxville tomorrow-- I think he's a Vol.
Williams is probably a backup for us. We might not have a spot. I don't know much about him-- except he was an unknown 2* until recently. Canes could regret this, if true.

I love how they have 0 OL committed. Miami is in for a rude awakening if they think Richt will get them on par with where he had UGA any time soon.
Yes. Both Swain and Doug Mathews, and the coaches for that matter, have raved about Rashaan. Kid is immensely tough and talented according to both of them. Mathews actually compared him to Eric Berry and few weeks back on his Sunday show. I seriously doubt that anybody on the current roster or not, is gonna relegate Gaulden to second team. We know what Cam thinks of Rashaan after seeing him wear #7 in honor of him last year. Kid is gonna be an integral part of our defensive secondary whether Byrd signs with us or not.
