'16 FL CB Tyler Byrd (UT Commit 2/2/16)

A radio guy in Miami is claiming that Byrd has told the Miami staff he is sticking with his commitment. We will soon see.

I believe the girl friend thing may keep him at Miami. The strange is a hard thing for a young man to walk away from.

Someone just let me know when it is I need to meltdown...lol.

smdh, because I know for fact that there are people waiting in this thread to do just that.

Silly Season...gotta love it.

I know that love is devalued to most of society, but there are a few who still believe in it. It may seem foolish and idealistic to a lot of you, but I think it is an admirable quality.

Not trying to downplay this young man's decision, but seriously other than a girlfriend, what would attract someone to want to play at Miami given their recent downfall and lack of fan support? We have twice as many fans at the spring game than Miami has at any of their regular season or bowl games.

agreed but at 20you have no clue. If I had married the girl I was in love with at 20 Id likely be in prison today!
Or 25 for that matter!

TOO SOON

What a ridiculous recruiting season- these players and their girlfriends smh! Good grief make the best decision for your future career! What a disappointment if true, especially with leading people on over the weekend hence All the insiders saying he would be a Vol. And even today GFW still saying Vol hopefully Miami is just putting that out there to pressure him and he truly does commit to us later today. He even said Butch had never pressured him.

My uncle dropped out of Tennessee in 1987 on baseball scholarship to come back to Spartanburg, SC because his then girlfriend was threatening to kill herself. He was being looked at by Reds and Mets scouts, but gave that and a college education up for her...

Today he is a struggling single father with 3 kids working a factory job at age 51.

Love isn't admirable, it makes you do stupid things. I'd respect Byrds decision a lot more if he just didn't like Tennessee rather than staying at Miami for a 16 year old girl.

Nothing on UM board about him commiting to their coaches. The insight board over there is mixed in their thoughts. I will wait for real confirmation, sounds like the radio guy expected this instead of it being fact. GBO!
