Recruit needs to be careful if a coach asks you to wait. Especially if you know they are still talking to and hosting visitors or other options about the same spot.

Woods, a three-star prospect went to Tennessee on his first official visit in October and has been high on the Vols since then. They recently weren’t believed to be the favorites to land him, but the momentum has shifted from Miami to UT over the past couple of weeks, at least in part because of the Vols’ hiring of new tight ends coach Larry Scott, who previously recruited Woods for Miami. Woods visited Georgia Tech over the weekend, but UT still seems to be in good shape with him, and he could announce a decision as early as this week.

Only hitch here would be timing. Will the staff take him now or are they holding him off till they have a sense what Kongbo is doing or if Simmons visits. I could see a scenario where Woods doesn't wait. He has options as well.

This could be good for us IMO. We still have a shot at a few guys higher up on the board. If he tried to commit this week and we told him no because we're holding out for Kongbo or Simmons and they both go elsewhere, we could finish without any of them.

The closer we get to signing day, the clearer the picture will be.

In theory, we could have room for him if we miss out on Callaway and/or Warrior in that scenario.

If all 4 of those guys hop on board, I doubt it.

Probably not. I believe it's Kongbo or Woods.Brown is separate. Now if Simmons were to decide to visit Woods probably drops to 3rd on the take list. I doubt Simmons takes that UOV. Now if they miss on all three DTs they seem to still be in play for, maybe taking Kongbo and Woods is in play.

This confuses me. In that video posted, he told the interviewer that he had already informed the staff of the school he was going to.

Why wait to announce?
