Really good athlete. Better S than WR atp but he could excel at either in college. Would be a nice get. Dont feel he'll leave SoFl tho.

Rumor is out there that Larry Scott may be hired at UT. That would affect Richards some.

My kids go to same high school so I've been watching him the last couple years. Speedster with a lot of his yards after the catch. One thing that should be considered is a lot of his yards are on wide receiver and bubble screens where he gets the ball and is gone. Needs (from what I can see) help on route running. on D has great makeup speed.

It will be interesting to see how the month of January goes for Richards, too, as his visit the final weekend before signing day would be particularly important.

Per Miami 247 site:

Targets

AHMMON RICHARDS

Position: Wide receiver
Size: 6-2, 175
School: Palm Beach Wellington
247Sports Rating: Richards is a four-star prospect with a 94 rating. He ranks as the No. 15 overall receiver in the country.
Contenders: Alabama, Miami, Auburn, and Tennessee.
The Latest: Richards was visited by Mark Richt and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans on Thursday. Richards was a Miami commit at one point and he has always maintained he would give UM a chance once the new coach was in place. Richards was admittedly excited when Richt was hired. Richards will take official visits to Alabama and Tennessee later this month. Alabama is Miami’s biggest competition.
Where Miami Stands: The Hurricanes have an opportunity to regain the lead for Richards with a good visit this weekend. This recruitment will come down to a Miami and Alabama battle. The Hurricanes have a chance to get out in front before Richards takes his trip to Alabama.

UT probably tried to get heavily into this one too late. We still have the 1/29, so I guess one could say we have very slight chance, but that would assume he comes out of this weekend and next weekend without committing to Miami or Bama (and potentially canceling the final visit).

I don't think he makes that visit. He recommits to the canes.
