'16 FL WR Ahmmon Richards

Azzanni was also in Florida Wednesday morning and met with Ahmmon Richards as the Vols continue to stay in that race. He will take an official visit to Alabama this weekend followed by a visit to Tennessee the next. Most feel like he recommits to Miami but Tennessee will have a shot as we've been told he legitimately is thinking about leaving the State of Florida.

Man this kid has a fantastic 3rd gear.

Hope we get him. Pair him with Higgins and Williams.

For the most part im excited with recruiting but I question....would bammer, osu, clemson, or any other current winning program choose the #85 composite rated WR and #99 composite rated WR...over #12 (Victor) and #28 (Richards)?

Sounds like somethin mediocre teams are forced to do. Surely TN wouldnt turn down those higher rated WRS

Simple answer here (and not being condescending) is that good coaching staffs don't base their big boards and ratings off of recruiting site rankings. In most cases they'll be close, but there will be deviations.

You recruit for your system. Maybe the staff likes what the WRs they took bring to the table. Maybe it's the hunger to block. Also the stars don't always tell the whole story. The staff could view all the WRs they take as four stars.

Just not that simple. The staff has a feel for who is really interested. Plus, Henderson is a slot receiver. I don't believe Victor or Richards are.

Bammer and osu dont heavily pursue #85 or #99 wrs. Those number are from 4 sites

For example: would you turn away the #7 dual threat qb and keep the #96 qb? I like my chances better with the highest rated guys...so do bammer, osu, clemson and those teams

Understandable. If those higher rated guys arent really serious about TN then you stay with what you have.

I assumed we had a shot with Victor and Richards next wkend

Are you stating #96 positional player or #96 overall player? Huge, huge difference.

Difference between top 100 overall players usually isn't a huge difference, IMO.

I look more at were they are rated at their position.

Thats how I feel about every position. Sooo if for some reason Richards wants to join the #1 dt qb and callaway....I hope we make a big program decision and make a spot

I don't completely disagree with you, I just wish if were going that direction, and that means cutting someone, that we would have made that cut a few weeks back. There's too much negative attention on that stuff right now.

I'd agree with you if the staff hasn't proven to be so good at evaluating. Look no further than Chance Hall. 3 star offensive lineman who came in and played like a 5 star.

That attn dont bother me. Ive seen bammer and other big boy teams do it. That cloud doesnt stay long. Get the ballers in here and win....you will forget the little neg attn

He sure did. And those lower rated guys do ball out from time to time.

I see how the elite are cruiting and I like them chances.....they are winning and its consistent. Great players can make coaches look like geniuses
