'16 FL WR Latrell Williams (UT signee 2/3/16)

Not close. Demps is a truly elite sprinter who sat the all-time HS record for 100 meters (10.01). He ran a 6.52 60m in HS while Williams' PR for 55m is 6.55.

FWIW, the reported 4.27 40 time is what Williams' coach said he's clocked him at, which almost certainly means that was hand timed...so that would translate to an electronic time in the 4.50 range.

Williams is fast, no doubt, but he does not have elite speed; hundreds of HS kids are faster.

Lol. This board sometimes.

At least on the track, literally hundreds. Williams' best official 100 time last year ranked 66th in Florida; over 150 Texas kids alone had faster times. Williams' 55m PR was not among the top 100 time nationally last year.

Just making the point that if anyone thinks he has truly special speed like Demps, they're going to be disappointed. But is fast enough to be an effective receiver in the SEC? Absolutely!

This. He's probably a 4.4 guy. 4.27 is just silly

247 atleast had a 89 rating 3*, 89 is close to being a 4*

Yeah. That's why I asked about Rivals. He got some respect from the others. Jones and crew seemed to think he was a big get. Rivals typically has to specifically NOT like a kid for one reason or another if they get offers from multiple name brand programs. I just don't see it. The competition was definitely good. His production was very good. He stood out. He appears to have elite speed and good hands.

Do we have a thread that has all of our committed players and their rankings from all of the recruiting services? Someone did that in the past but I didn't see it on the front page.

I don't recall seeing one.

2 Star on Rivals, high 3 Star on 247 and a 4 Star on ESPN

I didn't know a lot about this kid until the last few days, figured he was a fall back guy, etc. So I found some HUDL film... This kid is fast of course, but he is quicker than a hiccup,he gets to top speed in a few steps. He can definitely be a weapon this year. This puts a lot of pressure on a defense when you have that kind of speed on the edges... I'm really excited about this kid

Game breaker for sure. Reason I wanted him over Moss. He was a need in this class. He and Callaway can get over the top of a defense in a hurry.

Did Moss even consider us after his visit? I thought he pretty much decided to stick with his Utah commitment..
