'16 FL WR Latrell Williams (UT signee 2/3/16)

His school is in an area of Florida that is hard to reach without going out of your way to get there. It hurts your overall time to recruit other schools in Florida.

Good insight, thanks

Yeha this one would bug me way more if I was a Cane, Byrd is a top athlete and probably playing both ways if we need him too
(BTW, I hope he does, love when you have a guy plays both ways and puts on show evry weekend. I think EB maybe did a little bit, probably the last person to do it with us. But I could be wrong, I know Chris Gamble and obviously the one who stole our Heisman was great at it)

But the kid had a relationship with the coach for over a year, followed him when he got promoted tk Miami from UsF. And we truly put him on hold and he still chose us.
That would be really worrisome for U faithful. I know Saint Richt didn't have a full year, but this one should have be harder to flip for us, you think. But we be flippin like some burgers

This kid had no respect for the hurricanes.
His head coach is an alumni of FSU and encouraged the situation...Williams knows all about Miami but when he received an offer from UM he tweeted the hashtag #GoDucks...You can see how much he cared about Miami if you look at his twitter timeline after getting offered by Tennessee. He would tweet any and every negative thing said about Miami and then committed and still did the same thing.

I went to middle school with Chad Thomas (our starting DE)...He and some of the other players said while Byrd was on his OV to Miami, that day we had a few players drop out during the work out session and Byrd gave the impression that he did not want to be apart of that.

It's even harder at Tennessee...bet he noticed during his visit. :wink2:

Was wondering when you'd get salty? :)

Alright, while I will continue to lurk, this will be my last note:
It bothers me how much our fan bases are spewing hatred at each other...If Miami is good it's good for Tennessee, if Tennessee is good, it's good for Miami. Don't know what the hatred is about.
If Tenn is good that means UF isn't winning, helps UM recruiting...
If Miami is good that means it hurts UF's recruiting which in turn helps you guys.
Regardless, the enemy of my enemy is my friend and we both despise the turds.
Good Luck this year, hope you guys knock off Bama but of course I won't wish a Natty on you, because that's my ambitions for The U.

Just saw him and his family on the utsports live stream talking to Butch Jones. Kid seems really nice and so does his family. If that 4.27 40 is correct I can see Latrell taking over that punt returner spot after Cam goes off to the nfl.

Jet sweep a Butch favorite

Yeah, I'm sure that is the reason for the flip.

Love this one. Ainge said this is one of the biggest gets to him in this class. He said this kid is big time. He knows a thing or 2 about WR

If that was true then nobody from S. Georgia would ever be recruited. Lake City is 50 miles from
Gainesville, 60 from Jacksonville, and due east of Tallahassee at the junction of 2 major interstates.

Sorry, your explanation just dont fly.

Looks like a nice kid and great family. Happy to have him on board.

And even if not a 4.27 (which is hard to believe), the kids a burner and one we can definitely use.

So does this kid have Jeff Demps speed? Something close to it?

Not close. Demps is a truly elite sprinter who set the all-time HS record for 100 meters (10.01). He ran a 6.52 60m in HS while Williams' PR for 55m is 6.55.

FWIW, the reported 4.27 40 time is what Williams' coach said he's clocked him at, which almost certainly means that was hand timed...so that would translate to an electronic time in the 4.50 range.

Williams is fast, no doubt, but he does not have elite speed; hundreds of HS kids are faster.

I would disagree that hundreds are faster. There is a reason that those in Miami are really hurt by the loss of this recruit. Those in the area know that this kid was going to potentially be a game changer due to his speed. When those in the state of Florida make a big deal about your speed then you area true burner. But, we shall see when he gets to campus. No point in really debating it until then.
