Hope y'all get him. Your offense is fun to watch. KD Cannon is a boss. Glad you guys got Stidham. He was my favorite QB from the '15 class.

Tampa (Fla.) Catholic five-star receiver Nate Craig-Myers recently backed off his commitment to Auburn. The reason was simple for the 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect.

“I just wanted to open things up and give everybody a chance,” Craig-Myers told 247Sports’ Keith Niebuhr.

When can we expect a new commitment from the talented receiver?

“It’s going to go all the way,” he said of his recruitment.

The in-state Florida Gators are hoping they can gain momentum during this cycle and be in position to land his pledge.

“I talk to Coach [Chris] Rumph, Coach [Kerry] Dixon, Coach [Kirk] Callahan, but I’m more close to Coach Dixon,” Craig-Myers said of Florida. “They are just telling me I’m one of their top guys. They want me to come in and compete right away. They basically just want to get me on campus.”

Florida has playing time available for receivers. How important of a factor does that play in Craig-Myers recruitment?

“It’s a big role for me. I want to get in and prove myself early.”

Craig-Myers does like the track record of the Gators new head coach Jim McElwain.

“Just they way they bring Coach McElwain in, and how he produces a lot of receivers. I just want to see what he do on the field. It’s very crucial.”

Despite decommitting from Auburn, Craig-Myers plans to visit their campus at the end of the month. Beyond that, his summer visits are in the air with Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Georgia and USC being mentioned as possible stops.

"I really don't know too much about Tennessee but I really just want to get up there and see it and then I'll know more about it," Craig-Myers said.

"I talk to coach Azzanni a lot and just seeing what they're doing with their receivers is impressive," Craig-Myers said. "They had Cordarelle Patterson, Justin Hunter and those guys were tremendous athletes and Tennessee produces a lot of great athletes."

Per Rob Cassidy

The Tampa (Fla.) Catholic High School wide receiver doesn't have a single college trip on his schedule at this time, but will likely set a handful of them upon his return from the Nike Opening, which kicks off in Oregon this week. The list of possible visit destinations includes some schools a bit outside of Craig-Myers' home region.

"I've already seen a lot of schools a lot of time; Auburn, Florida State -- all those, so I'm really focused on the schools I haven't seen yet," Craig-Myers said. "So it will probably be Ohio State and definitely USC and Tennessee. Some others, too."

Public opinion is that Craig-Myers' most likely landing spots are Florida State and Auburn. The standout wide receiver is aware of the prevailing thought. That said, he doesn't mind disputing that line of thinking, even if he does so without a ton of conviction.

"That's not totally true at all," Craig-Myers said. "I don't have any favorites or any leaders to get me."

Craig-Myers says that Miami, Ohio State Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Auburn have been in most frequent contact as of late. He's open to pitches from those programs and others, as he doesn't intend to settle on a school for some time.

"I'll maybe make my decision sometime in January, but it's going to most likely be Signing Day," he said.

What is already set, however, is the criteria Craig-Myers will use to make his final choice. It's cliché, sure, but the top-level prospect shares it publicly with anyone that asks. "Basically, it's education first," Craig-Myers said. "I'm looking at life after football. That and playing time. Playing time is a big thing."
