There are few things five-star athlete [db]Mecole Hardman[/db] hasn't seen at Tennessee. But, there was one thing he hadn't seen in Neyland Stadium heading into this weekend.
But, he finally saw it, as did the other 102,455 announced in Neyland Saturday night, a win over one of Tennessee's big three rivals the first since 2009 as the Vols upset Georgia 38-31.
"It was a good thing that they came together and won as a team," Hardman said. "It's always a good thing when you can win and it was good to see them win and I enjoyed myself and I enjoyed watching them."
Hardman, a dynamic athlete who has a been a top Tennessee target in the class of 2016 since his sophomore year, believes this could be the win the program had been searching for under head coach Butch Jones.
"I think this win could end up being one of their breakout games," Hardman said. "Maybe they can come out and win the rest of them because sometimes you just need that momentum to get on your side and they've got that on their side after that win and only good can come from it. I think they are going to go back and see the stuff they did in the second half and just improve on it and do it the whole game."
Even though he was able to see the Vols make a remarkable comeback in front of a raucous crowd, he did say a game earlier this year was the loudest he had heard in his nearly half-dozen trips to Neyland Stadium.
"I don't know. The Oklahoma game was loud, too. That Oklahoma game was really loud. I have to put Oklahoma game No. 1. That game was really loud," Hardman offered.
Hardman, who plays quarterback for his Elbert County High School team in Northeast Georgia but projects as a wide receiver at the next level, said its as good to see production from Tennessee's wideouts on Saturday.
"It's about time for them to have some good games. Josh (Malone) played good, Preston (Williams) came in and had a good catch, Jauan (Jennings) had a good catch. It's good seeing them throw the ball around and (Joshua) Dobbs was playing pretty good," Hardman said. "I think it was a good overall win for them. It wasn't just the receivers, either. Jalen (Hurd) and Alvin (Kamara) both had a good game for them as well."
