What does it take for people to see that elite players want to see if we can continue to take steps to becoming a championship team they want progress and so yes wins matter. Why is it so hard to see they don't want to commit to a 8 and 4 team every year

What makes YOU think we're blind? :pilot:

What does it take for people to stop building straw men to knock down so they can feel righteous?

The issue isn't that recruits want to see progress. Obviously they do.

The issue is whether anyone commits because we beat Georgia in this one particular game. As in 'the winner of this game gets Jimmy Crackcorn!'.

There are few things five-star athlete [db]Mecole Hardman[/db] hasn't seen at Tennessee. But, there was one thing he hadn't seen in Neyland Stadium heading into this weekend.

But, he finally saw it, as did the other 102,455 announced in Neyland Saturday night, a win over one of Tennessee's big three rivals the first since 2009 as the Vols upset Georgia 38-31.

"It was a good thing that they came together and won as a team," Hardman said. "It's always a good thing when you can win and it was good to see them win and I enjoyed myself and I enjoyed watching them."

Hardman, a dynamic athlete who has a been a top Tennessee target in the class of 2016 since his sophomore year, believes this could be the win the program had been searching for under head coach Butch Jones.

"I think this win could end up being one of their breakout games," Hardman said. "Maybe they can come out and win the rest of them because sometimes you just need that momentum to get on your side and they've got that on their side after that win and only good can come from it. I think they are going to go back and see the stuff they did in the second half and just improve on it and do it the whole game."

Even though he was able to see the Vols make a remarkable comeback in front of a raucous crowd, he did say a game earlier this year was the loudest he had heard in his nearly half-dozen trips to Neyland Stadium.

"I don't know. The Oklahoma game was loud, too. That Oklahoma game was really loud. I have to put Oklahoma game No. 1. That game was really loud," Hardman offered.

Hardman, who plays quarterback for his Elbert County High School team in Northeast Georgia but projects as a wide receiver at the next level, said its as good to see production from Tennessee's wideouts on Saturday.

"It's about time for them to have some good games. Josh (Malone) played good, Preston (Williams) came in and had a good catch, Jauan (Jennings) had a good catch. It's good seeing them throw the ball around and (Joshua) Dobbs was playing pretty good," Hardman said. "I think it was a good overall win for them. It wasn't just the receivers, either. Jalen (Hurd) and Alvin (Kamara) both had a good game for them as well."

Polite post-visit quotes, IMO. UGA's to lose.

Are you guys acting like we have no chance with this kid cause you don't wanna be disappointed?

Nothing I read there says he's a UGA lock. Everything I've read of him seems like he wants to be here.

Maybe his parents or handlers have other intentions but he seems like he wants to be a vol.

No. It's based on the info from some posters on here who are connected, his parents open love for Mark Richt, the fact that his mother practically works on campus, and those quotes, which to me, are polite, post-visit quotes, but not "blown away."

Couldn't really ask for a better game for Mecole to see. We threw the ball around, we beat a top 25 team, we beat his home state school that he's also really considering along with us, the crowd was loud, the smokey greys.

If we lose Mecole, it had nothing to do with this week.

Yeah I kinda get those vibes too. Hoping we get him but it doesn't make or break our class imo.

I also wouldn't put it past Butch to find a way if he wants him bad enough.

We shall see.

Well you never know what might happen.... UGA could implode and lose 6-7 games and after years of never reaching the top and always finding a way to lose a game they shouldn't, the pressure gets high and Richt gets canned? Or at the least causes his stability to be questioned

But other than that happening, yeah I've pretty much written mecole off. Of course I did that with Richmond last year, too. And we see how that one turned out.

Exactly

As it stands, UGA, IMO. However, no Richt, or UGA struggling, as the Vols improve may flip the table

On top of what's been mentioned, what else can he seriously see to be blown away. He was here for OK game, so he knows how electric the environment is. The only thing new was beating a big rival, which happens to be the other team he is considering. He's not going to tip his hand. Hes been to TN so much that he probably knows tons of people on a 1st name basis. He stills seems to be leaning to UGA and may have already committed there, but this is a long ways from over.

The one thing now that's giving me hope is him openly saying he will silently commit long before signing day to the coaches. It just seems like if he was going to Georgia he would publicly commit at the same time, but if he's going out of state it would make more sense so he's not harassed by the locals constantly until signing day.

I thought for a very long time that he had already given a silent commitment to the coaches back in the spring or early summer. OV has made me rethink that recently with his comments.
