Cutcliffe had Crompton playing out of his mind versus LSU as a Sophomore. Had dark horse Heisman talk going on about him preseason.

No. 2 answered prayers to Meachem is not "playing out of his mind". The LSU game started the legend of Jonathan Crompton. That is all.

Those 2 long passes by JC were as lucky as Ainge getting injured vs SCar the previous week was unlucky.

Ok page 241, where's this kid going? Is he the reason Marshall's offer was pulled? Seriously thought TM was a diamond in the rough

I meant that as an ongoing development. Where is he leaning? Would be nice if he's told our coaches something that made them go bonkers. Bonkers enough to pull another commit's offer

Sources telling me he's leaning towards ETSU but ECPI is definitely in the mix

Actually, Ainge got hurt against Notre Dame. Last play in the first half that we didn't need anyway. Brent Schaffer was hurt in the SC game the week before.

Wrong year...Rick Clausen took over...Crompton showed up two years later.

Cutcliffe knew back then to roll Crompton out of the pocket. Fulmer and Clawson tried to make him what he wasn't by forcing him to stay in the pocket. Too bad his junior and 1st part of his senior year was a bust. I would have liked to seen what Cutcliffe could have done with Crompton if he had more time with him.
