People always ask me if I am a Georgia fan, Danyell Hardman told the AJC. I say Im a Mark Richt fan. Im a Mark Richt fan because of his values. I think if my son did go to Georgia, not only would he become a good football player, but I think Mark Richt would make him into more than just another football player. With him, I think its more than just football. He will make him into a man.
His mom has met Tennessee coach Butch Jones, but she has not connected with him on the same personal level as she has with Mark Richt.
I have met Butch. I like Butch. Butch is cool. Hes a good man. Hes got a football team that he needs to get together. I dont know what his morals are like, though, because I havent really talked to him much.
Jones has landed every instate recruit that he took over it looks like. Unfortunately Mecole is in UGA's backyard. I think we might even have a slight edge in the kid's mind BUT I think in the end if family becomes involved in the decision he lands at UGA.
This is what I worry about below. She works in Athens. So you're going to have that constant anti-UT propaganda going the whole time.

I think people overblow the influence of parents in these type of situations. When its 50/50, then sure parent's opinion can sway a kid. But if he's got his heart set somewhere, it won't matter. I personally went against my mother's wishes when it came to where she wanted me to go to college. She wanted me to stay close to home. I wanted to go out of state. And we all saw the Landon Collins fiasco with his mom a few years back.
If Mecole has his heart set on being a Vol, he'll be a Vol. At the end of the day it'll be his decision and his family will only have so much influence.

Kyle Phillips mom is another example...if J'Fra had stayed, she would have probably pushed for Vandy. I think she favored LSU...could be wrong.

He already did very recently. He has basically said that we have done a great job recruiting Hardman, but with UGA in his backyard, it will be very difficult for us to overcome everything "UGA" in his ear each day to NSD (or when he announces).
I read that but really meant post-visit.
Haven't heard much on whether he prefers DB or WR, seems like that would really be one of the biggest factors.
Hardman: It was cool seeing that. Its crazy how they can draw that. I was in shock by it.
Or you could have just read my update a week ago. It's been a long weekend, but I can say that we are in the lead for Mecole...I'd put it at 60/40 up from even with GA before the visit as i previously mentioned.
KD is all Vol. You'll start to see that more and more as GA starts taking other WR commitments, and soon. And don't listen to the Barn rumors regarding KD.
Warrior is really enjoying the recruiting process and trolling beat writers. The official line is that it is way too early for him to know anything, but he knows and our staff knows.
Finally, I think I may or may not be wrong on what I said about Derrick Brown and I'll admit it now rather than make excuses. While GA really seems out of it due to the lies that were fed to him, Auburn and Garner have really come on $trong. Not saying we are trailing, but the AU is right there with us and I get nervous when they are involved $$$.
I'm going to get some sleep guys. It's been a long weekend. Haven't felt this good about our class in a long, long time.
If this dude wasn't selling orange colored crap none of you would take him seriously.![]()
You're right, he's basically the opposite of Atlanta-Vol and we saw what happened to that guy. But a lot of what MKD has said has been backed up to an extent by other posters. Him saying we lead for Derrick Brown (which he backed off of) is probably the only thing I haven't seen posted by anyone else.
He said he is going to make a silent commitment and advise the coaches. Why do you need to make a silent commitment to the in-state school? I can understand that if you are leaving, but staying in-state does not require a "silent commitment".
