"It was crazy. It was so loud, man, said Hardman, whos ranked the nations No. 25 overall prospect and No. 1 athlete in the 247Sports Composite for the 2016 class. It was real loud in there. It was crazy.
I wish they would have won, but they didnt pull it out. It is what it is.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Hardman said he liked what he saw on the field from Tennessee despite the outcome of Saturdays game.
It was a good visit. I had a great time, he said. You can tell that Tennessee is way improved (from where) it was last year, so you cant really say anything about it. Theyre way improved. Oklahoma destroyed them last year. But that game was well-played, well-coached. They just didnt make the big plays at the end.
(Sterling) Shepard from Oklahoma was a big playmaker, and he made plays like a playmaker does. I mean, sometimes you cant do nothing about that.
They were way better on offense than they were last year, Hardman said of the Vols. I think (running back) Alvin Kamara makes a big difference.
We just talked about football and stuff like that, Hardman said. They were just saying they were ready for the game and everything and asking about my games and everything. They were just basically talking to me about football, about the game coming up and how I feel and everything like that.
While Hardman already is plenty familiar with Tennessee after his numerous trips to Knoxville, he said its still possible that he could visit the Vols again before the end of the season.
He also attended Georgias season opener Sept. 5 scheduled to travel to Miami this weekend for his first official visit, and he said hes currently in the process of figuring out where else he might go this year.
Right now Im trying to pick out all my officials and see what I want to do about that and how I want to do it, Hardman said. I just want to see how everything goes. I want to go to some of these other schools that I havent been at or anything like that. But well just see how it goes.
I want to go to Florida State for a game. I want to see Alabama and Ole Miss, so hopefully I can get to those games.
In recent months, he has discussed making a silent commitment to the school of his choice sometime this fall before announcing his decision on National Signing Day, and he said thats still his plan.
Itll probably be sometime in October or November, Hardman said.
For now, Hardman insisted hes still considering all my teams in the top 10, a group that includes Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida, Stanford, Oregon, Miami and Michigan.
And Florida State and Oregon right now, that came in late, Im looking at them as well, he added.
