This wasn't likely going to happen anyways. Close in proximity to Athens, his mom works in Athens, it would've been a huge pull to get him.

New article on 247

"“It was crazy. It was so loud, man,” said Hardman, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 25 overall prospect and No. 1 athlete in the 247Sports Composite for the 2016 class. “It was real loud in there. It was crazy.

“I wish they would have won, but they didn’t pull it out. It is what it is.”

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Hardman said he liked what he saw on the field from Tennessee despite the outcome of Saturday’s game.

“It was a good visit. I had a great time,” he said. “You can tell that Tennessee is way improved (from where) it was last year, so you can’t really say anything about it. They’re way improved. Oklahoma destroyed them last year. But that game was well-played, well-coached. They just didn’t make the big plays at the end.

“(Sterling) Shepard from Oklahoma was a big playmaker, and he made plays like a playmaker does. I mean, sometimes you can’t do nothing about that.

“They were way better on offense than they were last year,” Hardman said of the Vols. “I think (running back) Alvin Kamara makes a big difference.”

“We just talked about football and stuff like that,” Hardman said. “They were just saying they were ready for the game and everything and asking about my games and everything. They were just basically talking to me about football, about the game coming up and how I feel and everything like that.”

While Hardman already is plenty familiar with Tennessee after his numerous trips to Knoxville, he said it’s still possible that he could visit the Vols again before the end of the season.

He also attended Georgia’s season opener Sept. 5 scheduled to travel to Miami this weekend for his first official visit, and he said he’s currently in the process of figuring out where else he might go this year.

“Right now I’m trying to pick out all my officials and see what I want to do about that and how I want to do it,” Hardman said. “I just want to see how everything goes. I want to go to some of these other schools that I haven’t been at or anything like that. But we’ll just see how it goes.

“I want to go to Florida State for a game. I want to see Alabama and Ole Miss, so hopefully I can get to those games.”

In recent months, he has discussed making a silent commitment to the school of his choice sometime this fall before announcing his decision on National Signing Day, and he said that’s still his plan.

“It’ll probably be sometime in October or November,” Hardman said.

For now, Hardman insisted he’s still considering “all my teams in the top 10,” a group that includes Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida, Stanford, Oregon, Miami and Michigan.

“And Florida State and Oregon right now, that came in late, I’m looking at them as well,” he added.

Why is everyone disowning him again?

Where did he get Alvin Kamara was a big difference? The only time I saw him make an impact was in overtime when he caught that pass. Then again, I could've read that comment wrong, but that's how I took it. Now, throughout the season I say Kamara will make a difference because he looks really good. But definitely not that game because he didn't get a lot of chances

Battered fan syndrome IMO. I remember last year Pat Allen was a UGA lean. Bobo takes off to Colorado State and we gain momentum. We end up taking an even higher recruit in Drew Richmond who was an Ole Miss commit actively recruiting for the Rebels and all is well in Vol land. Everyone forgets every year that nothing is certain with 17-18 year old kids make 3-4 year decisions. Happens every year.

Eventually I think he ends up at weak ass UGA 😒 but it will go down to the wire with us he'll come to his senses

A lot of credit should be given to Butch. Butch landed Richmond. Richmond was truly committed to Ole Miss. I think he recruited for them because he felt he was going there 100% no doubt. When Butch never gave up on recruiting Richmond, I think it made Richmond truly respect Butch. I bet if you asked Richmond why he changed his mind he'd probably tell you that he felt secure under Butch because if someone is willing to go the distance for you like Butch did when he recruited him, he's probably not going to give up on you very easily as a player or person.

Butch personally made it his agenda to get Richmond. Butch got him. Not Mahoney. Not Thig. Butch Jones did that. Butch will get what he wants if he puts anything worthy on the football field this year. He can recruit with the best of them. Come Feb, Butch will target a big time recruit or two and they'll be VOLs. That's not being arrogant as a VOL fan either, that's just how it is when Butch personally targets specific kids. He targeted KMac, Phillips, Richmond, Hurd, etc., and all of them are Vols.

actually no we have just as much talent as them honestly we just need to finish games

We don't have as much talent. We're close, but out talent is young, and we're still thin. We go some good guys from the 2013 class, but just because it was under Butch doesn't mean it was an elite class.

We've had 2 top 5 classes. But 2013 and 2012 were in the 20s and 2012 was worthless for producing quality seniors on this team.

UGA has 4 years of top 10 classes.

We're not on the same talent and depth level as them. Close and getting there, but not there. Can we still win? It's college football. So yes.
