Do you know if CBJ has taken over coaching that unit? My hunch is yes.
For most part yes it looks that way at least in open sessions to media. Starting with UGA week Butch was doing with Z what Debord has been doing with Mahoney. I'd say Mahoney and Z will have new jobs next year. Butch won't just let them go. They would have something lined up.
I am serious. The development of the Wr has been not near where it needs to be. Players are frustrated and has been taken to CBJ about it. It is being addressed and will be sorted out by seasons end.
This is true. I also know that a couple of receivers will likely transfer if CZA is retained. I believe they know his coaching is not helping them reach their full potential and most do not like him on a personal level.
Some would argue players shouldn't dictate but the staff promises these kids to get the most out of their abilities. If Jones sees CZA isn't getting it done, he needs to make a change there. Any other discontent between players and a position coach?
I don't think so. I've been hard on Mahoney before but I think he is doing a much better job this season and I know his guys seem to like him. Stripling, Thig and Willie are all very tight with their players as well. CMG treats Hurd and AK like they are his sons. I know he has all the running backs come to his house and have dinner with his family multiple times per week. All of this info is what makes CZA's relationships with his guys stand out even more
Tee will also be the first phone call in the event that something changes. Despite CBJ and Z's connection, Z was not contacted about coaching at UT until Tee publicly turned us down.
After seeing the production Tee has gotten out of his highly touted wideouts at USC, I would love to see what he could do with Malone, Williams, Jennings, North and some of the recruits.
