'16 GA CB Baylen Buchanan (UT Commit 1/1/16)

but isn't the traditional Star an oversized safety/smaller LB that is used in underneath zone mostly? Who fits that description for us currently?

Sapp,Berry...McDowell and Smith aren't "undersized" but they're favorites...Bates.

Do you know if there's legit concern with this visit to OSU?

I have been told that there is a little concern due to the offer being recent and then he schedules a visit. I think we hold on to this one but I have to say O$U and Urban is recruiting him very hard.

OSU seems to be flipping most they get on campus so would be very concerned. They may come after Nigel too.

“it was what i expected, but even better," said buchanan, who’s ranked the nation’s no. 681 overall prospect and no. 60 cornerback in the 247sports composite for the 2016 class. “i already got along with the coaching staff, but (we were) just building on our relationship. Then, with my family, too, everybody just loved it.

“i guess it really just put a stamp on (my commitment). I guess just seeing everything all over again, it really just made me know for sure that that’s the school. I mean, i already knew for sure, but it really just reassured me that this is the place i need to be.

“i’ve been to a lot of schools, and nothing felt extremely right. But this, it really feels like the place i’m supposed to be at.”

“one thing that definitely caught my attention was how honest the coaching staff was, because when coach martinez came to my house the day before we went down there, he was just talking and talking, and everything he said — without me talking to the players — everything that he said aligned with what the players told me about him, as far as playing,” buchanan said.

When asked about the Ohio State visit, he told Fortenberry that he wouldn't answer any questions about it.

I'm sure Urban had a nice dream.

Ridiculous how everyone that suddenly sets foot in Columbus flips.

This one is going to piss me off if it happens.

I'd be willing to spend an evening in Gainseville with Don Yates discussing the golden age of Vandy football while watching Bama win another championship just to watch Urban Meyer's career blow up in his arrogant face in a way that would make Bobby Patrino and Butch Davis shake their heads.

I'm not super worried about it. We already have 2 new corners on campus and I was surprised we were taking more than 2 anyhow. As long as it doesn't affect our standing with Warrior, I'm good.

If he takes that trip to OSU, I agree. We are solid at CB.

No, I think you can never have to many cover corners in this league. Florida ha done well with heavy depth at that position and are once again loaded for this year. I want him to stick, this is big play Ray's son for gosh sakes gotta have learned a lil something from pop.

I agree with this. Having Osborne and Henderson already in the fold, and returning Martin, Foreman, Gaulden and Moseley in addition to Cam, I think we are okay if BB bolts. Doesn't mean I don't want him, but I think we're okay at the position.

Speaking of Cam, I saw this morning that he was likely a top-42 pick if he had left.

"TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports that the consensus among scouts at the Shrine Game is that Tennessee junior CB Cameron Sutton "would’ve been a top 42 choice" and may have slid into late Rd. 1 had he declared. "Sutton would’ve been ranked at a top 42 prospect for his return skills as well as his cornerback ability," Pauline wrote."

That makes his return all the more surprising.
