Maybe but if jones held off last weeks visit like reported his spot better be secure if he doesn't visit

That would be a huge narrative to use against us in the future. Much different than any of the other things discussed here

Ummm...what part of "hey kid you can visit whoever you want, but if you do...dont expect us to take you if somebody we think is better wants your spot" do you not understand?

Guys wait to see if he takes the visit before jumping to conclusions. Bird in hand remember. If he does indeed go and we get Byrd watch out here. But that's what if. Otherwise he's a Vol so be respectful.

Exactly. He gave cum the cold shoulder last week and we should be praising him.

IMO both he and Byrd are going to vols

Not going to hate if he visits OSU. His choice. I know they lost a lot of players to draft but not sure about corners. We are pretty strong in secondary especially if we land Warrior and Byrd. If he sees a quicker path to playing time elsewhere then so be it. We could use a spot. If he sticks I'll take him too as he obviously is pretty good if they want him bad too

I don't think we need to take 3 cornerbacks this recruiting cycle. And with 4 perceived openings and 5 big fish recruits looking our way, this would be the best case scenario if we needed someone to move on.

We will have 3 even if we land just one with Osbourne and Henderson already on campus. I'd agree with the statement that we don't need 4, but I'd take 4 if it meant getting Byrd and Buchanan sticking around.

It will be unfortunate if Buchanan ends up in the same situation it looks like Williams may be in. Late visit, lose your spot, then the place you visited doesn't have room. Be careful here kid.

Good point. Forgot about Henderson. I'm more of a load up on linemen guy. I think that's were the battles are won. And we have a shot at 3 highly rated ones. If one those spots are held up by an extra CB, I'd rather he go ahead and visit.

I agree with this. And that isn't a knock on Buchanan at all.

Cornerback and star position killed us for three quarters of the year especially in 4th quarter we have big need here. Suttons gone next year we need to recruit so there's no drop off from year to year anymore

Of course, no one can tell anyone what to do, until they are enslaved or have their freedoms infringed upon.

You can go out and kill, steal, plunder, and whatever else your heart desires... but there will be consequences, and that is what you have no control over.

I have no issue at all with Butch saying, "If you take this trip (your choice) then I may have to make a hard decision for the program and take a player who is ready to be a Vol (Butch's choice) 4 days from NSD."

Sure, Buchanan can do whatever the heck he wants, but if Butch has told him the possibly repercussions of that, then he is entitled to follow through with what is best for the program. 4 days till NSD... you can't be out catching spiders and picking dandelions. This is crunch time.

Sutton is gone after this season. Martin, Gaulden, and tkjr are draft eligible. This season proved that db is a position we can be thin at if we have a few injuries. I think if you have a a chance to bring in talented dbs then do it.

Sutton is gone but don't think we have to worry about losing the others.
