Still think he sent Auburn some positive texts to make them think they have a chance and create suspense for his announcement.

If that hadn't happened, his commitment would carry no weight because everyone would know he's going to UT anyway.

And I don't buy anything about his mom preferring Auburn. She RTs UT stuff all the time. And it seems like every UT player thinks he's coming here. Hell, Guarantano changed his Twitter avatar to Warrior's picture.

Warrior will be a vol. Brown is not looking good and kongbo i have no clue.

Possibly. I kind of understand, it helps our perception to look like we beat out a legitimate contender for his signature. I'm sure puppet master Butch is pulling the strings here too lol.

I didn't read Fort's post negative at all. He's consistent that he thinks Warrior is ours, he's just scratching his head at why Auburn is so delusional/confident.

Let's dissect this Fortenberry update:

Now, Tennessee could go 2-for-2 at defensive back early tomorrow morning as Nigel Warrior is set to announce at 8 a.m. (strong language by VQ)

From what we've gathered, there's still a lot of confidence coming from Tennessee on that one (more strong language). The Vols have felt good about him since the official visit (read: he's a silent commit).

Now, the obvious question is where are things with Auburn? Auburn's staff is confident as well Tuesday night that they are going to land Warrior, which has made these last few days very interesting, particularly tonight.

While Warrior has played things close to the vest, it's hard to pick against the Vols here after they've had some momentum for a while (for anyone unfamiliar with VQ, this is code for "he's a Vol").

Notice Fortenberry doesn't say anything about Auburn making a strong push or anything like that. That is normally code for a team becoming a real player in getting a signature. Instead, he just says Auburn feels good.

Miami also felt good about keeping Byrd...until they didn't.

Let the record show, when Fort and the VQ guys catch wind of a big time Tennessee target heading elsewhere, they get it out pretty quickly. When they're no longer confident on Warrior, you'll know it.

They haven't heard enough from the Auburn side to overshadow what they're hearing from the Tennessee side.

Butch knows we're going to lose a big fish to Auburn tomorrow (Brown) and he knows there is a perception that we lose out to the Barn a lot... It wouldn't shock me, based on the Preston Williams visit last year and an eagerness to change that perception, that we are trolling them just a bit here. Auburn was very late to this game and this just seems too out of the blue for me to believe. No doubt that Warrior has given the Auburn staff reasons to be confident but I think he commits to Tennessee at 8 am tomorrow. JMO.

Sleep well, guys. Gonna be an interesting day here tomorrow. :hi:
