'16 GA DE Chidi Okonya (FORMER UT commit 5/15/15)

Evil? Really? ISIS is evil. Voldemort is Evil.

Pulling a kid's scholarship is more along the lines of what, in bird culture, is considered a d*** move.

Lol I love rick and morty

Time will tell.

I am proud of most of the regulars here. 3 years ago nearly everyone fought that this practice of dropping kids was just a business move. Then it was an honorable thing to do. At least now most realize it's a necessary evil.

It's those crazies on twitter that try to blame this on the kids off the field behavior which pisses me off. That's were the academic talk About this kid came from I was referring to
I think git shirts before signing is better than being processed later. During operation roster flip Butch was signing heavy, letting the cream rise, then trim fat. Now that the roster is built he can withdraw offers from kids that aren't looking like as good of a fit as they were when we took their commitment. I bet the attrition by freshman and sophomores will drop way off now.

You know I hate this part of the game, too. However, we have to remember that when a kid is told to look around, all he is losing is a free ride to UT (or whatever school he wants) and will likely get a free ride at some other school. If they wanted to, they could pay their way like almost every other college student and walk on to the football team. They could even earn a scholarship here.

Duke actually had a great sell these days. Getting a $50,000 a year Duke education for free while playing in the ACC and being coached by Cutcliffe sounds pretty good to me. Plus they have been competitive as of late

Watch Coach K cry from time to time is priceless

The level of football scholarship is clearly a downgrade.

The level of education is obviously an upgrade.

Good luck to the young man. Hope he finishes there and gets that Duke degree.

Duke is getting better each year similar to Tennessee. Only difference is our ceiling is higher

Coach Cut has built a great program at Duke. His greatest coaching achievement imo.

He's a great teacher. He gets to concentrate on that there. All of the politics and CEO requirements ain't his thing. He's that type you read about at the division II and III programs that retire happily into their 70s...on their timetable. Hard to find that fit at a Power 5 school...he did.
