His statement sounds similar to Marshall's.
"The University of Tennessee is one that conducts business in the business world of college football, and in compliance I have decided to make a business decision for myself and for my future," Okonya wrote. "I feel as though I have the option and duty to select the best possible insurance for myself and future."
No one likes things being done this way, but you can be certain, it happens everywhere. A head coach is paid millions to field the most competitive team possible. Above all other things, this is his job. Yes, they care about their players, but in the end, Richt cared for his players and was fired because the on-the-field results were not up to the standard of the AD.
Butch loves his players, and values his job, and as such, he is building his team. Sorry for the recruits, but this is how you build. Ethics are not the top priority for a coach... and that being said, I'm glad I am not in a position to compromise those things.
Go Vols.
