I crack up with people saying Smart will be Dooley 2.0.

Be honest... He's been winning championships as a coordinator with his unit constantly near the top in the nation. Odds are, he will be solid at worst... Especially if he recruits like UGA appears to be finishing.

Fortunately, we are still in position to stand toe to toe every year

I honestly think Saban ran that defense internally and let Smart signal calls in.

Saban is one of the best defensive minds of all time imo.

UGA recruits itself. I wouldn't give him credit for someone like Mecole Hardman going to Georgia. The state is really abundant with elite talent and UGA will get their fair share.

This is like giving McElwain credit for landing Ivey and Jefferson last year. The school got those kids more than the coach.

Any prediction good or bad is just a guess for a coach with zero HC experience.

When he doesn't commit to us--like is almost a certainty-- keep it classy. The kid is a great player and I wish him the best. A decision that will see him not reach his full potential IMO but he will still have personal success.

Second that, minus the confidence that he won't sign here. I have no clue where he's going to end up, but I appreciate the way he's conducted himself during his recruitment. He's a model for the right way to go about it.

We are not Miami. No way our fans would ever go to that level of ignorance.

With that being said, until he picks up a hat that does not have an orange power T on it I like our chances.

Solid, perhaps, but odds are he will be worse than Richt. It's extremely rare to replace a Hall of Fame coach with another Hall of Fame coach or even a "good" coach. Especially one who is unproven like Smart.

It's also easy to field top-ranked defenses when you have the best talent in CFB year in and year out.

Here is my prediction..we get Warrior first...Moss is announcing at 8:30 so I have a feeling he got an offer since he is already committed to Utah..then we close with Williams..should be a solid top 20 class and around 7-8 in the SEC...not a home run not a Dooley class either
